Tribute art to Boogley's masterpiece, "Sketchy Friends Dance 2"

See it here:

Originally, I just traced over action shots of the original characters in Gimp, and shaded them. It didn't take long until I realized that anybody could have done that, and I wasn't doing anything original. I might as well have submitted a screenshot of the move and called it mine.

On this attempt, I only used the movie as a refence, and drew my own envisionings of the different characters. They don't differ a ton from their originals, but it much more reflects my own work than it did before.

This is a gift to you Booges.

Love you, you're the man!

Reminds me of Wacky Land from the Looney and Tiny Tunes franchise. I love the fun colors and the crazyness all over the place brings a smile to my face. Good work.

I LOVE THE REINTERPRETATION!!

I've been staring at this for about five minutes, I love the reinterpretation of the colours and setting, but mostly the yellow guy, the glamorous purple chick and the insane duck! The way you've redrawn the orange centipede guys really captures the way the move and stick together.
It means a lot to me that you'd take the time to do this! :D

Graeme responds:

The colours are actually just different tones of the originals you used. Their outlines are similar, if not exactly the same as you had them. Then I just used different tones for the fills :)

I'm pretty proud of the yellow guy, the purple chick and the robot :)
I do admit though that I borrowed heavily from a reference picture for the purple chick because I can't draw people. (But shhh)

Glad you appreciate it though!
It's all for you!
