I did this drawing for an art contest. The theme was "Music". So I made a crazy music maker laying down some keys on his piano. The music he is creating is actually swirling around him and giving a charge of real energy. I also tried to draw his teeth to look like piano keys heh.

Did you win the art contest??
Anyway... Cool art!!
It has such an edgy/urban feeling to it, and even when painted in Photoshop you maintain a crisp sort of feeling (if that makes sense to you :P).
For this, I love how you keep a good focus around the musician and pretty much everything around him turns warped and crazy. It feels really organized and at the same time really messed up.
This happy and curious look on his face clearly says he's making music, and enjoying it too. As for the background, the most fitting word for it is "musical". Therefore, all in all, you did a very very good job.

... for an album cover of Jordan Ruddes, part of one of the best bands ever Dream Theater.
Love for music and love for art comes togheter in one painting.
Very cool style dood, keep up the good work.
Author's Response:
Thanks a bunch!! I'll have to look at his cover art haha. :)
I have to say, I'm impressed. Your art style is something I haven't seen before. It combines the quirky, dark, whirling feeling of some types of art, but at least in this piece, makes it feel more upbeat, giving it a unique blend of the two worlds, which forms together fabulously into an amazing piece. The only possible flaw I would have for this is a few of the fingers bother me, mostly the pointer finger on the right hand, but aside from that, I can't think of any flaws to this. The textures on the piano keys, the way the art swirls, the darkly cartoonish feel overall.. It looks and feels like a dream. A dream that I would love to encounter.
Fantastic work, 10/10. I'll have to keep an eye on your art.
Also, I'd like to note that I find it impressive that you actually seem to try to reply to every review you get. Most people just don't give a damn, and it's refreshing to see somebody who honestly takes an interest in the comments of the public. Kudos to you for being better than the majority.
Author's Response:
Wow what a nice review :) I agree on his fingers haha, they got a little too crooked. I'm really glad you connected to the visuals as well, since its was definitely something I was trying to bring out as dark and cartoonish and still have a little upbeat wonder and energy :D So thanks a lot!
the essence of your art is very valuable. Your artwork leaves me speachless and gives me that aww aspiring feeling. Your shading and choise of color is great. i want to know how you made your background so flowing and how you made the color glossy on the music notes and the lighting on your music keys. Can you make a tut about how to make everything glossy and where to put the shades and light. Well anyways, 10 out of 10 for this art piece and keep up the good work!
Author's Response:
Hey thanks for the kind words! I don't know if I have the patience or skills to make a tutorial, but maybe down the line if time permits I could try that....odds are slim though heh. Thanks again :)
I love it! You are quite creative. I look forward to seeing more of your greatness around here.
Author's Response:
Thanks a lot! More to come :)

Amazing! My sorry ass is limited to sketching, hahaha.
Author's Response:
Thanks man!
All your drawings seem to remind me of the immaculate mind of Tim Burton (well, if he were a girl lol) Though you do have your own flare to it. The creepiness is just right :P Speaking of Tim, can't wait to see Nine this Wednsday, going right after classes. Woot! Well, I wish you the best of luck. Looking forward to seeing more of your drawings. *^_** On a side note, it looks as if he's playing on a beaten down fence, dunno how you can make music like that! xD
Author's Response:
Wow, thanks a lot! Hah it does kinda look like a fence :b
that was awsome welcome to my favorites you rock
I cant describe it.....I just love it

Author's Response:
Thanks a lot! I appreciate you looking at it :)
I've always loved this, the bright colours and energy really stand out alongside your darker works
the only complaint is about the hand closest to the front, but thats a minor one at best!
Author's Response:
Thanks man for the nice review! :) I agree on the hand, his fingers are a little off. Noodle fingers heh.
This is so cool. ;D
Author's Response:
Thanks! :)
i've seen similar paintings before, in overview this one is very well made, but the fingers can use some extra work.
Author's Response:
Thanks! Hmm, yeah I see what you mean on the fingers heh (too long?). I'll keep an eye on that next time.
Cool but funny! :) Nice drawing. Very beautiful.
Author's Response:
Thanks!! :)
I say its refreshing to see you draw something quite like this, so beauitiful and colorful seting the mood of its texture:)but the piano keys couldve been a little bit larger though, not trying to be rude just my opnion
Author's Response:
Thanks! Yeah, sometimes it's nice to practice outside my monochromatic palettes haha XD Glad you liked it
Very nice, colorfull, cartoony, i love it, fantastic post moar!
Author's Response:
Thanks! I will for sure =p
Though I'm not a fan of this style, I am quite amazed by how alive this drawing is. Maybe you should draw a similar picture with a guitar player? that would feel close to home :)
P.S.
He kind of looks like a mosquito.
Author's Response:
Thanks! Even if you didn't like the style, I appreciate the nice score and you reviewing it for what it is. :] Haha, and yeah he is kinda mosquito-like XD
I really like this. The warped perspective really captures the mood of the scene, the shading, texturing, and attention to detail is great. The arrangement of the image is good, with the bright pink and purple background taking up the top half and the more darker, subtle part taking up the bottom causes the keyboardist to stand out effectively.
Can't think of much else to say other than great piece of work :)
Author's Response:
Thanks! I appreciate the nice review, and glad the colors came out well enough :)
