Reviews for "Dangerous Space"

Not bad.

I have a few comments: first, I didn't quite understand the storyline. Second, the voices in the end could have been clearer and used more expretions. Third, like Steven_Farrell_Jr said, you can't have explosions in space. Now to the positive. I thought the overal idea was good and the music went along really well. The graphics were pretty good for a mouse, although the scientist didn't look too real. Apart from that, I thought the animation flowed well and I enjoyed watching it, although the end was sorta brutal and you could have made that part a little more dramatic.

Thanks for the review.

Now the response.

Once again, there was no explosion, (read below).

I made the end pretty long and dramatic to begin with, there was no real story, just some guy being killed, if you want story go watch Lord of the Rings. The scientist dosn't look very real because A) He's a cartoon, and B) Realism isn't the style of art I choose for this cartoon.

Apart from that, thanks for keeping the review intellegent.

hermmmm

just one thing..... You can not have explostions in space!!! sorry to burst your bubble! the only thing that will is the sun!!! Fire needs oxygen to breath!!! yeah i know its hard to beleave but its true!!!! LOL!!!!! nice work though!! The voices sucked!!! BIG TIME!!! The SPACE SHIP sucked!!!! but I still liked it! ("A little")

datalite-9 responds:

Hate to burst your bubble buddy.. It's a cartoon. Animated fire dosn't require animated oxygen to breath, and second, there was no explosion, there was an implosion as a result of the break in the astronaughts suit which resulted in a cataclysmic evacuation of all oxygen in his body causing a rupture of his internal organs trying to get out through that very same hole, because they couldn't fit out of that small hole they went the short way, through the rest of his body. Go consult some books or the internet before you confront me about astrophysics.

And I'm not sure why you think the voices sucked, the astronaugh had a crackle and poor quality to immitate using a radio signal as opposed to a telephone or internet microphone chat session. Also, the space ship as you call it, is actually a space shuttle. I used reference photos as a base for the one in the cartoon. Go look at some NASA photos for proof of this.

Besides, fire dosn't breath it combusts, which is only one direction, as opposed to inhale, exhale.

Sorry to sound rude, but I have to defend myself.

i saw that show

Having seen the same program on the science channel, this probably makes more sense to me then most. Your song choice was exlelent, The Moonlight Sonata is probably my favorite song of all time. Your graphics were decent, but some of the animation was extremly jerky, and dimmed the movie's quality, good work though.

Not bad. Kinda good.

Pretty good job with this movie, dude.
Your graphics are very nice. You have quite a talent for face and body creation, which is not something many people have. Nice job with that.

Your sound is awesome. You can never go wrong by including Beethoven in your flash. Just....don't reference it to a video game like RE1; it's almost disrespectful. Just let it be, and people will know it.

A few things to consider:
The sound was good, but the volume needs to be balanced. The music could come up a LOT if you can find a louder recording of the Sonata. Not too loud, as the song is supposed to be very soft and subdued, but loud enough so I can hear it without cranking my speakers up to deafening levels.
Voice recording was pretty good, but could have been better quality wise. You could also put a little bit more. The astronauts and Mission Control are usually talking a LOT, especially during an EVA.

Animation was good, but a few things could be fixed. First of all, people don't breathe with their backs. If he's hunched over like that, the shoulders do move, but expansion is still centered around the chest area.
Also, try not to use gradients for blood and stuff. Keep it with a solid red. Speaking of exploding humans, what were the white gradients rushing into his helmet supposed to represent? Please don't say air. It's not a problem, I'm just confused (maybe I'm stupid, I dunno).

This is an interesting idea that you have here. Just work on it a bit, and I think it would be really cool.

datalite-9 responds:

Alright, this is a good review, and a better one to respond to (Thanks for keeping it intellegent).

The little things rushing into his head are simple uh, 'anime-particle' effects. Just eye candy.

The mission controller breaths with his back because it's a cartoon, one of the first laws of catoons is to OVER-exaggerate things. He was hyperventillating, so I watched how the back moves while breathing heavily, and thats pretty much what happens when the lungs expand.

I would have added more talking, but I really don't know what they say on a EVA (Whatever that is excuse my ignorence).

Also, that was the only recording of the song I could get my hands on. I'm working mostly from school, and the admins have more or less destroyed any ability to use a P2P program. Which means I have to scour websites for MP3s of any kind. It's harder then it sounds. I was also using headphones whenever I played the movie through, next time I'll test it though me speakers also, just to be sure.

Yes . . .

I did really enjoy this. I've never seen a scientist who breathed with his hump before though. :) Nice, smooth animation, good music, the voice quality wasn't too good, but it wasn't enough to distract me from the 5 rating. Nice flash.
