Reviews for "BentTV: Crack Iraq's Back"

Nice Piece

But not as punchy or snappy as your other great works (Chipmunk Rap and such). It tended to lag a little from time to time and some things like the Michael Jackson bit went on a tad to long for my liking. But things like the general talking about what they were planning to do and the BBC guy were great bits, very true to life and make this a piece worth watching.

Heehee

Great job on the humor part *giggles* Its the kind of movies Id like to see more often not too violet, offending, or nasty but hilarious!! ^-^

Bent TV

The flash was quite good, now that thats out of the way I'm going to delve into the content. I hate when people put down America I'm not saying you did, but I'm refering mainly to the pages and pages of ignorant responses in the reviews. Its extremely ignorant to label a whole group of people and its extremely ignorant to call people sheep because they believe a certain way or terrorists, because they believe another. (However I do see that failure to react to terrorism would make you terrorist "sympathizer", but then again the protesting hippie people don't believe there are acts of terrorism taking place in Iraq so its really a question of view points again, but I digress). Generally intelligent people often make the mistake that everyone is stupid and blind, everyone knows that there is a fair amount of propaganda on both sides its evident no matter where you turn and your ability to discern that which is and what intrinsically isn't is shared by most of the population. Most people can see blatant attempts to sway you in either direction, whether its a group of crying iraqis or some pictures of a waving American flags everyone is aware that there is another side to the story, another angle that has yet to be shown.
I'd also like to address the fact, since I'm here writing this anyway that the Iraqi war isn't costing 300 Billion (like you have said) its actually costing around 20-40 Billion, with Reconstruction and Humanitarian Aid (a cost we were already paying anyway to feed Saddam's army among others) filling out the rest of the 80-90 Billion dollars its going to cost us. Also I would like to say that the federal government pays very little in way of Education or Health Care like you have said before that the money should go towards, so it that money in the federal governments hands wouldn't really affect those programs, and mainly used for what else National Defense. Now one thing people neglect on a fairly regular basis is how much the war is actually going to cost. If you remember from World War 2, there was a thing called the Marshall Plan, and through this we became a world super power. Our profits from reconstruction, the profit from these loans, are the same types profits we stand to make from the money we are lending the Iraqi people, anyone who says how are we going to pay for this war just recieved their answer.
Also I would like to address the people who say this war is for oil. First anyone with any rudimentary knowledge of economics will realize that the dumping of tons of oil from these untapped places onto the market will develop into lower prices. Now I don't understand how this would benefit oil companies, but I'm sure lower oil prices and more competition will end up in higher profit margins for them (if you couldn't tell, since it is text, I was being sarcastic). Now if you still want to believe that the Iraqis are going to be uncharacteristically stupid and sell this crude oil to the refineries in Texas, and not take the profits that they stand to make, then I'll ask why is that so bad. Theres two possibilities either the oil companies will pass on these deals to the consumer (unlikely) or they will profit from them, and when they profit the United States profits and the banks that they put money into profit, and they cycle of profiting profits all. Either way though I still feel this war isn't for oil, if they wanted cheaper oil that was closer to the U.S. or in the U.S. for that matter they could easily tap Alaska's fat oil filled ass.
Anyway I would just like to say that no matter who tells me I shouldn't feel proud of my country or I should be ashamed because I'm American, for any reason be it because their beliefs, their pure childish angst and jealousy, hatred for the U.S. in general, or whatever, atleast I know I have the freedom to tell them to shut the fuck up, and thats all I really care about in the end.

You make valid points, but you could easily have summarized this more efficiently. I could spew out another pointless essay to counter your arguments, but I won't. What I will say though (again), is this: If Bush's "tactics" can ensure the safety, peace, and prosperity of the US and the whole of Middle East (and the world for that matter), then I will make it my personal business to apologize to every single pro-Bush people out there, even those who use CAPS and can't spell. From the way situation looks now, they have a LOOONG way to go. On a side note: there are HUGE evironmental problems and set-backs with tapping Alaska's oil, dealing with it is a ig problem. Just so you know.
