Reviews for "2-Bit Explorer"

I got this error (edit: had intended to paste the error but forgot) when I tried to use save for the first time. I was outside Antoine's house.

Edit: It was a aways into the game. I had arrived, talked to Antoine, explored the areas outside the maze, slashed all the bushes, entered the maze, slashed the bush over some stairs, retrieved a small key and gone back to the area outside Antoine's house to save. I also picked up the poem and examined every item in the inventory while in the house.

I am on Chrome, not incognito. I also just restarted the game to and tried saving inside the house after finishing the dialog and save worked. No idea how the error could have triggered last time.

Fiddleling responds:

Hello there, how are you? I am sorry for that bug! I am trying to replicate it, so could you specify a bit on what happens? Is it an error message? Does the game simply freeze or does it just not save? If you could tell which browser you are using and if you are on Incognito Mode it would help out too! Thank you very much!

I'm confused. Is there another hidden puzzle like the 3-block one for the last valec shard? Also, why do I need my torch upgraded? I have defeated the moon but still want the shard. Am i missing something? I've travelled around every area again trying to figure this out, and why is there a gold pedestal in Armon's place?

Fiddleling responds:

Hello there! Thanks for playing the game!

For the torch upgrade, you need it to reach the Threshold of Reality. If you don't have the torch, something will kick you out of there if you attempt to get to it.

For the shards, here is a list with an overall location of each:
- 1 outside Antoine's House
- 1 near the temple south of Antoine's House
- 2 in the Labyrinth surface
- 1 in the room before Limos Chamber
- 1 inside the walls before the prison section of the Nun
- 1 in the prison section before the Nun
- 1 underneath the trapdoor section
- 1 in near the temple in the Courtyard
- 4 in the corridors after you fall through the ground after waiting a bit in the dark corridors (near where the Chanting Monk is)
- 2 in the Forgotten City, 1 being outside and the other in one of the houses to the south

For the gold pedestal, that is for Mammon followers when they need their weapons upgraded.

Hope this helps! Best of luck!

played for quite a while, and had closed the game a few times and my saved remained, however, one day all my saves dissapeared, so i didnt complete the game, however however, what i did play was quite fun, there was a healthbar but i never found any enemies, the music was eerie and the books were interesting as well as the tools i collected, it did feel a bit strange to have some areas completely silent tough, where it feels like there shouldve been music
overall, what i played was quite fun, albeit a little lacking sometimes, it felt a bit empty, but it was interesting

RPG themed flash. Black and white graphics are classic, but vibrant colors all over would be better. If you enjoy searching and exploring, then this might be the game for you.

- typo in chat with the guy in the first hut: "I guess we wont see eachother again" -> missing space between "each" and "other".
- the skulls that lie sideways (especially in the bone room) look like the letter "B" too much.
- 2nd journal: "The 1st underground ..." should be "first" not "1st", breaks immersion a bit.
- broken divinity book: "scholars found 3 that ..." should be "three" not "3". Google "General rules for using numbers in text", 1-9 should be words, rest can be numbers.

Where I got annoyed small time:
My feeling is that fall-though-holes should stay open once fallen through them. The movement speed makes it difficult enough to avoid them. Generally I like this kind of puzzle (even as it is), but it is used too early in the game, you might loose lots of players here that have not "bonded" to your game/story yet, they might fear the rest of the game is like this and leave.

Where I got stuck big time:
- Finding that I had to use the inventory bell on the big note floor marking in the north took me like half an hour. Reason I didnt try at first was that the bell did nothing in the other floor marking rooms where it said "the bell resonates" and assumed it wouldnt work here as well.

Where I got puzzled:
- We have notes on doors (ok, these open when hitting the big bell with the hammer), a (still) not usable flute in the bottom right of the maze, a bell in the inventory, floor markings with a bell on it, a music box ... Too many "sound" type items if you ask me, leaving players puzzled about what-to-combine-with-what especially considering they have to run back and forth to try.
- gained nothing from returning the music box to the sis? Also, returning it was only possible after talking to her several times when I already had it with me the first time I talked to her?
- item 4 and 6 remain empty and the game just ends with using the bell in north? Why do I even have health? Did I do something wrong? :(

EDIT:
- Esc -> Backpack -> "Hells Bells": should be "Hells Bell", for it is only one bell (as the description sais.).
- Esc -> Backpack -> Hells Bells -> "Why did the Hells bells brought you here?" should be "Why did the Hells bells bring you here?" or "Why have the Hells bells brought you here?"

Fiddleling responds:

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback! It's wonderful to read ways that I can improve my game! Since English is not my native language, all this details are very appreciated!
For the items 4 and 6, they are the FAN and the HELM OF VISION. The fan allows you to use the flutes and the blades spinning around, and the helm allows you to see and interact with secrets! Make sure to check for hidden walls behind treasure chests ;)
For the health, you need it to defeat the bosses! Explore a bit more and you'll find them! Best of luck!
