Reviews for "Deeply Lost"

very surreal, just like a dream.

Level 9 is pretty tough since it all depends on timing and chance. Sound is good, i like the experimental bent you got going on. Visuals are decent too, maybe make it, less crowder or the hitboxes more apparent. Harder than it looks too. I like the customization options.

you can say whatever you want about the gameplay (why is everything so slow?) but the music is chosen that is needed and suits best, the art is simple but in my opinion cute

I really enjoyed the visuals, it's really cool that the music, SFX and programming too were done by a single author! That said, I'm not sure what the point of the game is...

Like, let's take a look at it as a puzzle game. It has had some cool puzzles, but it's way too slow! Once you figured the puzzle, moving the character around is draining; by level 8 I gave up on playing the game, since the level is just some precise movements scattered around the level that take ages to complete (no fun!).

The description of the game mentions philosophy, so let's try to analyze the game as a fable/parable. Usually the objective of such stories is to simplify a complex idea into a short story, but whatever message or story the game/author is trying to convey is being gate-kept by the gameplay! The levels are just levels, they tell the player nothing, they just take up time...

My recommendation would be to either focus on making a puzzle game by actually focusing on the cool puzzles or to focus in the story telling and removing any levels that are just "fill ins".

This is my criticism. Thanks for sharing your project!

Thanks, I will use your feedback for later. Yes some levels are a little pointless, but the difficulty is in that it takes more time and precise movements(to avoid enemies) to reach the goal. When someone asks me to describe a “hard” level, I describe it as taking too much energy and patience to complete.

I absolutely love games themed around dreamy stuff like this, so I like this concept and story. There's something very charming about the sort of crayon drawn art, it gives off this very nice young dreamy feeling.

I do have a few gripes, first being the music. While I understand the intention was to make dreamy, somewhat surreal music, the melody feels overall aimless and random.

For the gameplay itself, The puzzles themselves are pretty good! I've gotten physically stuck due to bad moves only a handful of times but thankfully there's a reset button. My issue here is less so the puzzle and more so the props overlapping the puzzles. Sometimes it can be a bit confusing and hard to see where you are.

Lastly, I love the lil story cutscenes, the art is very charming and dream-like. My only issue is the text is slightly hard to read at times, I feel like if you were to space out the letters a bit more it would help a lot.
