Reviews for "Inn & Out"

Fun game! it legitimately felt like I was playing an real arcade game. However, the two things I noticed are:

1- I'm not a fan of having to move in the direction I was going (not allowing to turn the other direction) and jumping disabled when using stairs, sometimes annoying when trying to escape from the enemy.
2- I found a bug where sometimes when I'm about to get the spray and die, not only does it still count even though I didn't get the spray, but the level's soundtrack repeats again during the death animation and when another round starts, the same soundtrack plays and you start to hearing both during the game.

Overall, I enjoyed.

Noted

The controls feel janky and the game feels unfair in some points of the game, but since arcade games are typically like that, that is actually a good thing.
Also, I feel a sense of Hotel Mario, Pacman, and Mappy inspiration from this. I like it. The only reason the rating isn't higher is when you run out of spray and the pests start swarming you, which may force you to restart. Possibly consider adding an elevator that goes from top to bottom floor.

Yet another good suggestion, writing it down.

This is a really solid arcade-like game and it proves that Hotel Mario's gameplay can be fun when made more fair to the player. My only gripes are that you can't move backwards on stairs while you have the spray bottle and that the levels don't seem to get harder. What would make them feel harder is that the enemies would start from different positions and if the spray bottle started to last a little bit less each round (like the big pellet in Pac-Man). Those are pretty minor gripes and the overall feel is very much like an old arcade game but a bit more fair.

This nails the old arcade aesthetic so incredibly well, right down to the way it boots up in the very beginning and the little art on the side of the screen is the icing on the cake. The gameplay itself kind of reminds me of Burger Time a bit too.

My only real complaint is that that I think it could use either an alternate method to getting up and down floors, or maybe another set of elevators, because things can get pretty congested in the middle of the stage and a good chunk of the time you just kinda have to wait it out til it's safe to ride.

I love this rendition to namco's early 80s arcade milestones. it's very fun and entertaining!
