Reviews for "Left Out (Jazza's Isolation Competition)"

Now I'm sure I won't win... Good Luck!

Edit: No, it's fine! There were already others wayyy better than mine. I'm waiting to post it, so I can see if I can think of a better idea.

TheRightTree responds:

Thanks... I hope I didn't discourage you or anything. Looks like you haven't posted it yet though...

I love the idea you made it with an animal 😊🌻

I love the textures you put into the dog and wood! The lighting overall is also amazing! It make me sad because I’m a sucker for animals 😂. Good Luck! Sending Good vibes you way! 🌈👍🏼🍀

I love this! It looks amazing, and the lack of line art gives it a very soft look. But I think this piece should be entering the open category. The beginner category is designed so that young artists (up to 12 1/5 years old) can submit their creations without being discouraged by much superior drawings made by much more experienced people. This piece is amazing, but I feel that considering yourself a beginner (even though you recognized that you have improved greatly) is unfair to the other contestants. I understand that the open category can be quite intimidating (since there are a lot of experienced people in there) but just because your painting level matches the level of other contestants in that category and you may not have a chance of winning as high as in this category, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t enter. I hope that you don’t take this as a personal attack, I’m just trying to make you realize that you might be unconsciously making this competition unfair for he young kids entering it. I hope you come to the right conclusion and reconsider your category.

Edit: I understand your category choice and really appreciate your respect when responding to comments, I hope you continue drawing and improving, but I also hope you stop considering yourself a “beginner” (at least in the terms of this competition) after it comes to a close.

TheRightTree responds:

So, I was kind of divided into the category I should enter. So, in my opinion, the beginner category is for, well, beginners. Young people or people who are new. So this is my first art competition, and I understand that doesn't mean that I'm a beginner. But, I think I or anyone, should be eligible for entering however good their art is if there are new. Of course, the beginner category is (partially/mostly) made for kids to enter without being discouraged. And I had these concerns when deciding. But, though it may sound selfish (which I don't want to be), I was able to draw this with the "skills" I gained with the same time/conditions as others (~1 year - also some luck). If the host, Jazza, thinks this art is the best, I should deserve the prize for the improvement I was able to achieve (I am not, I repeat, not, saying that mine is the best - It's just people giving it positive ratings).
Also, I spent ~10 hours, which, I believe, led to better results than my usual pieces (usually spend 2~3 hours in recent pieces). Adding to that, I do not draw in the style this piece is in, nor this "good" (I am satisfied with the piece). I watched the video, this scene popped up, and I said, "why not?". It was like an experiment, and since I liked how it was going, finished it. These do not support my decision (or at least it's not solid); however, it will be great if you can understand. I understand your concern, and that your comment was not a personal attack. And I hope I wasn't too defensive.

Edit: My opinion aside, thanks for the positive review and saying it's amazing, I'm happy about that. Never knew I could draw something like this.

Edit 2: Thanks for the 2nd response. As I said, this will be my first and only Jazza's competition where I enter in the beginner category.

love it.
