Reviews for "Asgard's Fall"

there is a point where you are so OP that killing enemies is like popping bubble wrap

Very well made, especially considering the early build. Interested to see how development pans out.

This is really fun! I've always been a fan of these sorts of rogue-likes, and the design is really crisp and beautiful (pixel art ftw).

My main gripes are as follows:

There should be some indication of ranged attacks from enemies. Right now, they just kinda appear, and though I'm pretty sure they'll be at the top of all the other attacks, it's still pretty easy to lose track of them. A distinct sound (a call in an ancient language, maybe?) should suffice.

The dash feels weirdly unintuitive. I didn't even realise it was a thing until a few playthroughs. I just assumed it was similar to evade, and when I did start using it, keeping track of the cooldown was too much for me to care about. Plus, most builds kinda make it redundant. If you have regen/evade/can clear everything in your path, dashing is kinda pointless. If you could add a damaging version as an upgrade, that would resolve those issues, I feel. (also add a cooldown bar, please).

I can't wait to see how this turns out over time!

there are 2 helheims. is this intentional?
epic game.
Edit: the world select screen music doesn't loop.

cool game, i can definitely see the replay value.

in its current state i'd have liked to be able to keep playing even after winning the default gamemode (so convert the mode to endless), i was having fun

i initially thought the modifications to damage added damage to all sources, but they actually only affect the matching element, but i imagine that'll be better with a proper tutorial or whatnot. also added physical damage feels way stronger than other damage types because they don't trigger remotely as often, having to swing an extra time makes a huge difference, at least to me

also do you play path of exile???? every stat in the game is right from there, from the resistances to the ailments to the elements (except there's no chaos)

SmaexGames responds:

Thanks for the feedback. You can actually choose to play endless mode in the menu, at least if you played the latest version of the game. And yes, I played a lot of PoE, but also a ton of other arpg's, these are just the most common stats to be found in these type of games i guess :) And since this game will be a mix between arpg and auto shooter I wanted to include them.
