I will be honest and say that the lyrics ruined it for me, although i just love the song. But just so you know, im a guitar/rythmn kind of guy so the instruments in the song are what really touch me.
Although i didn't like the lyrics, you did well.

But your voice... to be blunt, sounds a bit whiny to me.
IMO, you should sing at a lower key.
what key would you recommend then? I specifically put a capo on 2 to be able to sing to it so, if you find it whiney then dont listen to it.

I normally do not like acoustic music, but even this was good enough to catch my attention. The lead singer is a little bit scratchy at points, but the lyrics are great.
Yeah, my voice is a little rough, but i kinda like the scratchy parts:)
