Rather meh. Just a lot of spamming shots in one direction. Some of the levels you can literally just sit in one spot and mash spacebar. It's just ok.

I know I've played this game a very long time ago, but I don't think it was on the NES. Probably from one of Namco's arcade collections. Maybe on an actual arcade cabinet. Maybe I played Tank Battalion, instead. Dang it, Moe! Why did you have to go and make me stop being productive to try and figure out which old-as-dirt tank game I played once as a child?
Call to Adventure is a excellent song, but it seems too upbeat for a game about tank warfare. Need something more gritty, I think.
