I like the concept but there is a lot of work to be done.
Some things you can work on:
The art work is not terrible but it can be better, especially the faces.
It would be super useful to have a ingame guide to give a clue of where to go
Interactable objects or places such as doors or buildings you can enter should highlight when you put your mouse over them.
Add a way to switch between full sceen and window while in game
Adding more NPC's around town so places don't look as empty
