This had everything! Sold fun action, the highs and lows of emotion, a fully realised story, heart, and most of all Vengeance! Honestly better than most of the action moves it makes fun of.
One thing I would change: the news reports were very entertaining, but clicking seems to skip while Space lets them happen? I just thought there was no news some days. Maybe switch them? You’re probably already primed to click after the level ends, so it’s more automatic to do that, which skips content.
Also, while this doesn’t need a tutorial, something telling you that staying still recharged your eggs faster may help people develop strategies sooner (unless it doesn’t and I’m imagining things).
Edit: Played it again. If it helps, the tv reporter error is when you click the text telling you to press Space. Also, the last boss can be cheesed by not actively moving toward it (preventing ground enemies from spawning). Maybe you could add the same line of cars chasing you forward, a little closer this time?

If clicking skips then Whoops that was never an intended feature and not something I ever remember implementing. I'll have to check out that code.
I figured that automatically laying eggs because you are still is something players would quickly pick up on, I did want to avoid a tutorial, but you've made it clear there need to be some more explanation if things stay the way they are.
Amazing game! a fun narrative combined with egg-cellent bullet-time chaos and a potentially infinite struggle keeps the game from being dragged out without cause 10/10
