Reviews for "Drifting Among Worlds"

It's way too easy to die, like 90% of the things in this game will kill us (even the flowers?)
The concept of attaching floating islands is pretty interesting, though the collection of resources without lore seems a bit trite and colonial. I would have liked to see more metaphorical world-building such as in your Cursed Travels game. Maybe I'll change my mind if I can manage to progress more in the game.

Really fun

this is fun all though ever so slightly annoying

This is a rea;;u great, yet frustrating game. What is the point in checkpoints if any death sends you back to the beginning? Have done pretty well, keep failing on what I assume is the last boss. The game itself is rather short and for the greater part there isn't a need for multiple lives as you heal instantly on return to your ship. However, it would be nice to have an option to upgrade your health or attack or something.

Had a lot of fun with this one!
I enjoyed the metroidvania-ish idea of collecting movement upgrades for your island to slowly allow you more and more to explore/more freedom of movement.
I think my only thing is that even with all the obvious points towards 'Start with the ocean/stone, and work your way into the propeller upgrade' my brain still went towards wanting to get the floating islands first (especially since there was one that looked particularly cool at the beginning).

Overall, liked the boss/area variety, liked the islands having different more likely resources (purple=enemies, ice=iron/rock, ocean=rock, forest/grassy=wood) since that helped with late-game collection, and liked the development of movement to help with the mysterious story.

Some small critiques I have are:
*I wish the snowball enemies appeared more than once (maybe one in the cave-y formations)
*I wish the plant enemies were more obvious from the beginning. Was not too bad, just confusing at first. Same with a difference in iron/stone.

A great job! I look forward to more content from you in the future!

EDIT: Can't wait! I liked a lot of your other work, as I mentioned on Temple of the Four Serpents (Amidst the Sky, Soul Mirror, Warper, etc.)

Thanks for playing and the feedback!
I'm not sure exactly I didn't use the snowball fellas more, that would indeed've made the variety in islands more interesting. I think my reasoning was something like: every dungeon needs a unique enemy. So for the plant level that would be the spitting flowers and for the mountain the round faces.
The plants... yeah.

Right now I'm very slowly uploading my existing work (that includes this one) to Newgrounds, so there'll be more soon. I should've done that to begin with, but for whatever reason never got around to it (i.e. I forgot).
