Reviews for "Quixotic (Original Mix)"

I just want to say I can definitely tell you put so much time into this song especially at the drops and I love the buildups. At around 2:40 you can really feel the intensity and I love that. In general, your music gets me going and I'm so glad to be in the presence of such outstanding music. Keep up the good work.

wow, this is so cool

I like the mysterious intro, and the hard-hitting texture at :17 predicates the rest of the piece quite well. The mastering is so loud and punchy - truly a treat. The piece takes a little while to develop, but at the drop at 1:31 it feels really climactic and cathartic. The vocal samples are a bit overused after a while, but this piece maintains a great punchiness and drive. I would've liked to hear some more harmonic depth at times, although I commend you for keeping things interesting with the tempo automation at 2:30. The structural variety at 2:53 was quite welcome. I like that jittery bass synth at 3:28 a lot. After a time, the sound design has so much variety (and the piece is so long) that it lost an element of cohesion imo. The last 20 seconds or so have a lot of jarring changes in the texture too, and I don't think they did a great job of wrapping up the piece. I'd rather see you try to consolidate some of your ideas and expand on them, rather than spread the thematic content of this piece too thin with a lot of fleeting riffs and ideas. Still, the production, sound design, and atmosphere are all impressive. Keep at it, Kaixo!

Thanks for the review :D

Hey man gonna drop some words for ya

Lemme start by saying that when I saw the list of people in my pod, I was pretty sure that my climaxes would be the least impactful of the three. The power you achieve in the drops is exactly what I expected and what I was unable to achieve myself. So that already puts you in front of me

This is such a variety, it's awesome. You switched up genres but kept the same general theme - it's a good way to create scatterbrained goodness without abandoning cohesion. And then in the end you stitched it all together just to shove it in our faces. Brilliant. My favorite is the DnB drop, the bass is super satisfying.

There's a chord in there that I don't like so much, like at 0:52 going into 0:54, it just sorta rubs me the wrong way for some reason :/ don't really know why

I'm going in expecting to lose to this, it's great and mixed really freaking well, holy crud, and it's solid all the way through and stuff like that. One of us has to lose, but I'm sure we'll both score decently enough to come back as a backup when it happens :) Best of luck to you man <3

KaixoMusic responds:

Thanks a lot! Good luck <3

Woah, this is probably one of your best. I've never heard something like this in my life. You should make more music like this. Great job!! <3

KaixoMusic responds:

I try to mix genres all the time. Makes a track way more diverse and is a lot of fun to make.
