Very well designed with a hypnotizing yet imersive artstyle and cool take on the adventure game genre! The retro pixelated look works suprisingly well with the photo-made artsyle. I cant quite place the aesthetic exactly but some of those city shots give me a very 80s vibe, along with the border and screen within a screen thing! The stuff that's done with the photos is wildly inventive, and gives this world a presense all it's own!
The music, despite being surreal and even erie at times is actually suprisingly upbeat! The game has a real sense of almost mystic adventure, yet is tempered with forboding surealism mixed with the imposing scuzzieness of the enviroments. The music is so well composed. Even the soundfonts are expertly selected! They have a real richness and resonance that makes it feel almost like 3d sound!
The story has it's hooks in me, it will be cool to see where this goes. The main character is very tangible and compelling, and makes me want to follow this guy through this whole adventure in his shoes very effectively!
The navigation very much feels like it hearkens back to the "Choose your own adventure" books that came before. This creates a very unique feel in lieu of the more conventional point-and-click format.
The sheer amount of secret options to find is a real hook and it serves a gameplay function very skillfully aswell! (like with the hidden item, and the nurishment which seems like it will come into play later!)
It's also cool that most of the puzzles are what I would call "Behavioral" or "Prudential" puzzles. Each puzzle deals more with wit, intuition, prudential judgements and social navigation than anything else. The puzzles feel organic and intuitive and like they are situations that would occur in a natural enviroment, while still being very game-ified and thus engaging and entertaining!
I am very eager to see more of this and wish you all the best, great job!
