Alucard was in "castlevania 3" (NES)

except back then he looked more like someone in a mafia movie than the unholy child of the prince of darkness.

and the prequel, "kid dracula", for the gameboy, i didn't really know that was alucard until i read something about it in EGM, but before that, i became hopelessly addicted to that game, thinking it was really fun, but also hard, because you had to learn new magic on every new level, and charge up a fireball before you can use something like "BAT", "FLOAT", "WOC"(walk on celings) "UMB" (umbrella. silly, if you really think about it.)

alucard and samus - wow! talk about your different ends of the spectrum - but a nice touch nonetheless. and poor dracula - if only he had discovered that shotgun in the castlevania games - he might not have died so often. a job well done i should say.
