I'm very torn with this one. The music is incredibly nostalgic and easily my favorite part of this game. The art is fine, I like the main menu animation. What REALLY kills this game is the most important part of all for an arcade game - the gameplay.
The biggest offenders are the walls. They are covered in random angles and leave me clueless about where the ball is going to end up. Half the time, they just bounce it back and forth in the middle, leaving me unsure of when it will either go down or up. I'm forced to watch for 10+ seconds and do nothing, waiting for the action to resume. If I miss the ball, I don't get to choose where to serve it or even the angle - it's all randomized. If this was all an attempt to make a party game (which it looks like it is) then you've added plenty of randomization and luck factors that this will be a very casual game. However, brick breaker by nature is already fairly casual. This just leaves me somewhere between frustrated and bored.
I think aggressively schmeh suits this quite well, as posted below. "schmeh" being average, generic, or run of the mill.
Personally not a fan of Breakout games, but it's got a cute art style and nice music.
I'm gonna dig deep for that P
I really enjoyed the game! The only problem i have is that level 10 kind of feels luck based. Other than that the rest of the levels feel great.
