Reviews for "Codeine Cowboys [v2]"

The graphics look retro so you it is off to a good start. It took a while to load up, and I noticed lag as well. Lag can ruin even the best game. Next time you should get a Beta Tester to try everything out before you present it. If you need my help, just let me know.

MoeAnguish responds:

Thanks

I don't know exactly what happened, but after the first stage I could only use my bare hands (no gun option was available, but it might be intentional), but more importantly, no enemies spawned anymore. I could just complete every stage without any enemy being there. I cannot give you more information on this, but I hope it helps with fixing this bug.

MoeAnguish responds:

Try restarting the game, that should fix it.
If this issue persists, try the stand alone version.

It's weird, but these bugs don't happen in the .exe version as often as they do in HTML5. i guess it's because of how game maker (the engine used for this) processes the code for HTML5.

Artstyle is pretty great, the music choice fits the game's aesthetics and tone, controls are decent, sound effects work. Negative is the speed, it's so slow, the experience could be better.

MoeAnguish responds:

Thanks! also, try the desktop version. it's much faster.

It's like a fusion of Pacman and Hotline Miami, though not quite as good as either. Wall collision is a bit janky, too. I got stuck on walls quite often.

MoeAnguish responds:

That's fair.

It would've been a lot better if I'd known beforehand that enemies respawned, and if the camera were more stable. If the aiming were made better, the game would be great. It's a fun and more casual copy of Hotline Miami with great music.

MoeAnguish responds:

Yeah, that's fair. glad you enjoyed the game though!
