Reviews for "[BTNverse] Universal Thief"

Another amazing game. I just Love the atmosphere you build in these, and the game itself kept my attention too~

Cool idea. Really creative! I felt like some actions were too good though, so it became repetitive as I just "Boosted" the whole game. It would be cool if you gave incentive to steal non-HP from things (like with the airplane, that was clever :) ).

adriendittrick responds:

yeah didnt have time to implement identity theft that well.

I lost twice to the first door... -_-

doors are scary

That was some crazy-weird-awesome-fantabuloustic-insanity!

I loved the earthbound style graphics, and while initially it was tricky to progress past the second level, I did figure out which move to steal, and from where on I found it fun to find the right moves to steal, up until I stole a certain move that deals damage past on a certain thing (wink wink) , at which point things started becoming more easy, but I get the sense you intended people to use those moves to actually win the game.

The last fight was a big pain, more so because actually getting the moves you needed was a little annoying as it required some rng to make sure your foe was choosing the right move to get you an opening, but all the same it felt great to get the final moves, face the "almighty" , and take it down!

I take it that you have the game highlight your foe's next move, very useful and reasonable to help you choose carefully.

All in all, this was just too much fun!

Weird but crazy and giving some interesting mechanics!

thanks for the really nice review, glad you had fun!

Holy mackerel, this mighta been one of my favorite games yet from ya: the concept really surprised me since I was just expecting a more common type of thief game (like Thief, if you can imagine that) but I should've known better than to expect the ordinary from you, haha! It didn't take long for me to absolutely love the whole strategic element of stealing moves for an ideal loadout to deal with challenges in your way, all in a crazy Earthbound-esque environment. Really very impressive design in building all of these sorts of moves that can serve all sorts of purposes! I haven't beaten the whole game yet, but I'm looking forward to: I honestly thought it was gonna end with you stealing the boss ID, and that would've been satisfying, but it just kept going!

EDIT: I am the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end of this game rocks

adriendittrick responds:

thanks for the great review as usual :)
Have fun beating the rest of the game when you have time!
