Reviews for "Waterworks!"

It's a scriptwelder game so S+
Yes, I've played it @ https://scriptwelder.itch.io/waterworks 😋

Now this game starts you off with a small snowflake. This snowflake is your water carriers and popularity of the people. Then your snowflake has to hit the ground and catches a few more and forms a little ball the size of a pebble. Going at a decently quick pace, I'd say rounds 10-20 are the most important rounds of the whole game. Keeping popularity at 18+ is very important, this is essentially 10, 15, or 20 BONUS gold income using small donations and common donations. With this extra gold, your snowball forms, and goes rolling down the hill as you get wells, but MUCH MUCH more importantly, sumps and pipe systems. This is arguably the other most important part of the whole game, as if you have a very good pipe system on the right side of the town, you only have to worry about providing water to the left side of the town, where it's good to place your wells. Now as your snowball starts to grow, your gold continues to accelerate, keeping the game fresh and a new experience. A key concept in this game is knowing when to give up trying to provide water for some town, and which water carrier to put out fires with. Keeping a strong sump system on the right side is the strat that helped me out the most. Not doing this would probably result in slower more difficult gameplay, taking longer to grind out popularity and gold. I beat it on normal in 125 turns, I'm sure if I was any slower, I would've started to lag behind the pace of the game and lost. The game also happens to teach stuff normally taken for granted, and the more you know.

And I do agree with @mr-dogshit I do wish the UI for taking stuff out of storage and into the construction process with maybe an autofill with an 'are you sure about this' or something might help out there.

The constant fires and severe lack of water carriers/wells makes this really frustrating on anything but easy - except that easy doesn't reward any medals. Blah.

That was very fun, especially in the mid-game having to manage moving different water carriers around more often. However, it seemed to slow down with the placement of a few sumps/wells and after that it seemed all that was left is upgrades. This was on normal though, so I'm excited to see how the harder difficulties are!

I can’t remember the last time I was educated this hard and this well. Epic job!
