I can agree to this but, only to a point.
This "pandemic" is not as deadly as the media would like you to believe, highly contagious yes but not that deadly (unless you fall into the category of weakened immune system by old age or you're already sick).
Social distancing and wearing protective gear correctly (as in making sure you either sanitize or properly discard used protective gear) is all fine and dandy as well as a good thing.
I don't like how face mask have such a negative stigmata in this country to where people will go out with a cold or flu (or other equally virus and yes I consider Covid-19 to be equal to flu just more contagious) because people will think less of them.
So far I'm okay with the self isolation as a choice but, to legally force it would be taking it a step to far considering the impact of Covid-19 isn't that big if you're following actual statistics and not just blindly listening to the media.
Now as far as them saying "we gotta save the economy" it's not in any sort of threat of collapsing like they say.
Now the threat is that there is no free pass for people who lost their jobs (either permanently or temporary) because no one wants to stop billing people which was my main concern when it came to shutting things down.
If my job would have shut down I would have been homeless in about three months (or so far in dept with my apartment that I'd never be free from it) which of course would affect my credit making it considerably more difficult to make important purchases in the future.
In short, I feel it is equally stupid to stop all sources of income for the citizens when bills refuse to stop as some (or most) of you think it's stupid for people to not quarantine themselves until this crap passes.
