Really nice love letter to oldschool Zelda! I can see that tons of care went into crafting the overworld and dungeons. Enemies are also cool and really varied!

If have to agree with the complains about the difficulty, though. The increase in drop rate made things a lot better, but pretty much all dungeons have a room with a ridiculous difficulty spike (like the mentioned room with fire spitting statues and like 6 tough enemies). These could be toned down a bit, maybe with some more I-frames on hit. Also, the wizards in the last dungeon do crazy damage AND teleport on top of you, which is super annoying.

There are also a lot of bugs! Half of the time i can't buy from merchants even though i have money. The ghost merchant restocks its items, allowing me to buy eg. the wallet multiple times. The fortune-teller statues now just give me a black textbox when i pay them, which is only resolved by reloading the game. Beside the obvious suckage (made me lose a lot of progress) I think I need to activate them for some kind of secret :/

Beside bugfixes, I'd like to see some kind of map / pause menu for complete Zelda look and feel :) Also maybe autosave when i exist a cave??

Thank you for the feedback! Bug fixes have been something I've been working on in the past few days so I'll try and fix as many as I can and I'm happy that even overall you still enjoyed the game!

My main issues with getting all these bugs patched is just how seemingly random they are, the black textbox of death is something that has happened to a few times but I don't what specifically causes it as it seems to happen at random, so annoying!

Need to be able to remap the K/L commands or at least be able to use A/S as an alternate.

Edit 3: Finally beat the game, and I change the rating to 4 stars because it is possible to beat the game . . .even without finishing the water dungeon. I had 12 hearts and 2 sword upgrades by the end of it. . . no blowdart gun. The final boss is tedious but doable . . . but only because it started to lag, allowing me to dodge. Biggest tip is to figure out the markings for the bomb, death whistle, and if you get it, blowdart gun. Each has a symbol or making that tells you where to use it. The bomb is a small line on a wall, the whistle is a 1 mark (if it had a line on the bottom), and the boulders with a small x on it can be blown up. The smite rod . . . is in a cave in cave, you need bombs.

Edit 2: After leaving the browser and reopening, the game reset me to the original starting point. (3 stars). So I'm at the third boss with 2-forms . . . I'll still try playing again . . . out of obligation . . (Edit 2.5) So I realized I made it to Maltojo without beating the water-frog dungeon, so I'm doing that one, but I can't bet past one of the rooms where there are 4 worms . . . I kill them all and the curtains still won't open so I have to reset the game.. . .I really think I need to beat the water dungeon first, because I need the blow dart gun.

Edit: I was at the final boss and I died. I went to farm hearts in front of the dungeon entrance and I am now glitched in place, even after dying to the dog enemies. . . I will say this is one of the few games I've hated playing. It's kinda close to being good. . . but there are parts that prevent enjoyment (glitching, bullet-hell which I wouda played a different game for . . . ). (Rating 2.5 stars)

I mean its fine if its a learning curve . . .but sometimes I can't simultaneously handle 6-8 different enemies shooting at me . . . with half of them moving. Then dying and having to camp to get hearts back.

I mean, I get when games are nostalgic and fun. . . but this is too much of a hassle. . . I'd rather work on real - life things at this point. Made it to third dungeon, third teleport. (Rating: 3 stars)

I’m sorry that my game wasn’t as enjoyable for you. Releasing patches for bug fixes are becoming an everyday for this game so I’ll take into consideration the bugs you’ve reported to try and fix in the next patch.

I came across a bug in the Narrow Path Cavern. I completed the dungeon but died as I defeated the boss. It must have saved with the boss defeated because when I went back to the boss room to fight it again the boss did not spawn but the item dropped from the boss remained from having defeated it. The door closes and remains locked though. It also did not drop any heart after being defeated. Now every time the boss room is accessed it closes the door and does not spawn the boss. I am stuck and have to save and quit in order to get out of the room.
