R.I.P Francisco Munguina Villalta
Despite being the first flash game Munguia made this is still among the best of this authors games. And that says a lot because most of his games are very good. This is game that made me to fallow this artist and play the many artsy and original games of his.
The reason this game is so great is because of the very likable character with his relatable struggles ranging from driving the human evolution forward to getting food to fighting for love and procreating, and the very interesting way the story is conveyed trough comics and without speech.
Each level is very different and the diversity of gameplay makes the player very engaged.
Sadly this game has a lot of bugs, probably due to author being yet unexperianced with flash at time of development. Game can crush often, boss fight suffers most form this, stones can cause boss to crash randomly but spear makes him an instakill which makes it too easy and boring and wastes a good idea of a rather unique boss fight mechanic. The scene where caverman meets his love for first time is also prone to crash. Also deaths by exiting side of screen are unnecessary.
It would have been better to just fix the bugs of original game rather then to come up with the extra content. This new side story is not as interesting as the original anyway and is pretty generic, except where caverman was picking eggs in giant eagles nest, that looked cool.
This game is a work of art, but bugs do not allow me to give it a perfect score.
