Reviews for "Nocturne no 8 Adagietto mesto"

Just about perfect.

When I last went to your page here on Newgrounds, 2007 had not yet arrived. Am I ever glad I remembered to come back here!

This is just a wonderful piece. The melodies are great, the harmonies complement them extremely well, and the accents are hit very well. I have no idea how you manage to do it with GPO... is there any way to get such humanlike playback with Finale 2007 (which has a reduced GPO)?

I'm not quite sure why I'm giving a "9" instead of a "10"... for some reason, I feel that the piece is extremely good, but not quite a perfect 10. It doesn't quite grab me the way some of your pieces do. Sorry about being a bit vague. It might have to do with a slight lack of variety, though perhaps that was unavoidable.

Oh, and yes, I would love to have the score. Please send me an email at i_esn_i (at) yahoo.ca

Great work!

My o my, I've just stumbled upon one of the greats of NG. :)

The first measure disturbed me for whatever reason. That third note wasn't what I expected. lol. I grew to like the piece quite a bit though. This piece has a great deal of emotion, especially towards the end, and this is either the result of meticulous programming or excellent playing, more likely the latter, lol.

I loved the melody after I got used to it.

I don't have too much to say as this is a short piece..lol.

If you could send me the sheet music for this piece and your Prelude no. 7 Lento Elegante, I would very much appreciate it. My email is schurmanater@hotmail.com

Just a shameless little comment here:
I'm looking for the more respected composers here at NG to review my work, and as you are one of the best, I'd love for you to take a listen. Thanks!

HELLO
i took a look at ur pieces and they were pretty nice man, ive only heard ur recording of the brahms rhapsody so far.
and i sent the sheet music

have fun!

Wonderful

This is such a lovely piano piece. I could imagine sitting on the steps of some huge cathedral in Europe at the ends of my roads. Great feeling, great progression and most importantly the area of a subtle climax. It doesn't punch me right in the face with excitement, it slowly but suddenly hits my senses.

I'm curious what you used to compose this?

5/5

Winterwind-NS responds:

composed on noteworthy so that wen ppl ask for sheet music, i can send the .nwc file to them.
sequenced on cubase SE
Garritan's PO etc etc etc
thanks for the review

Hi again, Winter

Right from the beginning I liked your melodic hook, and I'll never be able to use dissonance quite the perfect way you do, it seems. Your "bridge" is very reminiscent of your other pieces - this song definitely had your trademark on it!

Beautifully-played, nicely-written. Thanks for another great work!

Winterwind-NS responds:

your welcome
i had fun composing it
thanks fo tha reveeuu

good score

First off I like the pedal use at the end, leaves a lingering but not to much. The soft part at the near end when you did the scale kinda cool gave a nice break a nice change and didn't expound too much on it and thus didn't really overwhadow the rest of the piece. I liked the structure in the the first melodic phrase: statement, variation departure slowly leading to restatement. I always love minor sounds so cool and so many cool harmonics you can produce with it. I think if the begginning were to start softer and slow...but that is really more of my taste I like creeping up and then BAM!!

Winterwind-NS responds:

hey thanks for the review
