Reviews for "Battle on the Bitmaker"

Been a long while since I checked out your music! Hope you been doing well, Step.

I love the fast trill of an 8bit synth melody in the beginning. The sweet variety here is awesome, and oh my gosh the harp-like synth that begins in the middle of this track fits great! What a well composed and mixed 8-bit rendition of a game track!

Step responds:

Wow, SFJ! It's been such a long time! I JUST saw this review now.

I'm super glad you like it. I've been doing well myself, hope you've been alright too!

Came on here for the first time in a while and decided to check what you've been making. Glad you're making some music still man. Hope you're doing well!

I just noticed that you had this out. I guess I'm more than a bit late for it, huh? Anyways.. this is pretty incredible. I don't know how you keep taking my favorite songs from this game and making them better, but damn.. nice....

A VGM track from Step?! My life is complete. I love the cutesy effects and the sense of climax into :35. Personally, I thought the melodies during the refrain were a little underwhelming, or at the very least the climax oversold it. The mixing and mastering are great as always, though, and that creepy melody at 1:40 kills! Nice job with the sound design. I can't believe people would dare rip on 3xOsc after this. XD The crash (if you could call it a crash) at the end was also rather enjoyable. In fact, you did a great job playing with the Lo-fi throughout this piece. Always a pleasure hearing new tracks from you, Step. Looking forward to hearing more of your work! ;)

I'm very glad you've returned! I love this track and I look forward to hearing more from you. Despite your relative inactivity, I was still greatly inspired by your work, particularly "Becoming Independent".
