Reviews for "Unprepared Adventurer"

An ok game. It could've been better. I think I encountered a glitch there, but it was no big deal. At least I didn't need to refresh

PeterMX responds:

Could you mind sending me a message describing the glitch? It could help me a lot.

does need some polishing but really amazing for a game jam

PeterMX responds:

I'll be polishing it while I work on the other updates.
Also, the game jam version looks even worse since I didn't plan correctly, you can find it on the itch.io page that is in the description.

meh just a somewhat decent and short game but still it's an ok game
btw there are also controls for ZX, alternate for OP, which you probably forgot to put in the author comments
kinda boring to be honest, concept is not bad

PeterMX responds:

Oops forgot about the controls.
Hopefully, later I can make a better game with the same mechanics since there's a lot of room for improvement.

You could have taken the time to at the very least allow me to pick up and use the weapons from the same button, it's not hard to program if you use a little bit of common sense.
Also would have been a good idea if you either made the room bigger or the enemies and damage cones smaller. It's weird that I can face in any direction and walk freely, but I can only attack in 8 directions. Shows your lack of coding experience or maybe your lack of taste in game design.
The idea is good and I expected puzzle gameplay, but it never came. It's instead an aggro and dodge gameplay. Learn programming and game design because so far common sense doesn't need a teacher or a critic to say you lack skills and experience. Do your homework and learn instead of doing nothing for a year, not even planning.

PeterMX responds:

I apologize that the game wasn't up to your standards and you felt disappointed.
You bring a lot of fair points and I'll make sure that if there's ever a sequel I'll apply them, especially a bigger focus on planning out the levels better.
Keep in mind this game is an entry for a game jam and I made the first version in 48hrs and I've been making little updates here and there since I'm still busy at school.
I think you really put a lot of thought to your criticism and it shows, however you worded it too antagonistic which I almost dismissed until I read it a second time and actually got your point, maybe next time you can tune it down a bit because your good reviews are going to be written off as just hate, which is not what it is.
