Reviews for "Labyrneath II"

Much like the first, this is a very good platformer. The music is just as good and the level design is even better. I found myself admiring level details. The game forces you to slow down, and then forces you to speed up always keeping you just a bit on edge. Controls in the first were good, but here the controls are great. The spikes and projectiles still have large hit boxes though, and do NOT run into the side of a spike. This is not Sonic after all, ha.

If you're wondering if you should give this game a shot - I recommend it. But be warned! This game can be unrelenting at times. One minute expecting patience, the next running for your life.

The first game was a bit of a challenge, but I beat it. The sequel is what we call NES Hard. It starts off fair enough, and continues ramping the difficulty to insanity mode. Oh, you bet I was cursing up a storm toward the end (and that moving platform level with plants). But all in all, it was a great game with tight controls, sometimes requiring lightning reflexes and a swear word thesaurus. I'd definitely love to see a Labyrneath III.

Highly recommended, but you should probably use a controller for this if you can to make things just a little easier.

fun overall there's some minor headaches with predicting the hit boxes of the seeds that shoot out in some levels. there's some minor issues with making you wait on scrolling platforms its a bit over used kinda slows the game down to a tedious pace at times. get that's a hold over from the mechanics of the previous game is timing though. final boss if felt was a bit easy compared to some of the levels in the middle of the game.
