Reviews for "A regular day (2:16)"

gorgeous

well i go away, i come bk and i find this lovely piece of ambient guitar from the 'tang innit. very relaxing, simple but soooo seductive. the quality of the guitar is awesome, extremely clean and crisp, seems you've been working on getting a good take, helps though with an acoustic don't it.

If anything i think you could really open this track out somewhere, the way i'll stretch the intros out, add a quiet string quartet, filling the surroundings of this mix, let it grow and mutate into an even more beautiful creation, like a caterpillar to a butterfly.

with regards to mogwai, i'd almost certainly say yes, sigur ros too. simply brilliant.

i can't give this anything less than a 5.

WinTang responds:

Yeah I missed you, thanks for the kind words mate.
Glad you like the guitar sound, I'm slowly getting the hang of it. I dunno, I find electric easier to mix actually, I just went a bit overboard in the Narshe tune :)
Here, I had to do a lot of trial and error to get it to sound lo-fi and not just crappy.

As I told padman, an opus more magnum is in the making. I just don't have a lot of time to spend currently.

Hehe, our Mogwai and Sigur Ros thing :)
Hope to hear more stuff from you soon!

i am stroking my beard...

...as always. habbits form through mental anomalies, unspoken colonies at worship in sync, with bluebells of wire, in desperation sink below, but above all, remember to paint ur walls pink,

Happy...

50th submission you wuzz! >: (

I hate you! <3

But let's get a bit serious here, na don't we? It was a pretty decent track. Very soft the hole time. Nice strumming with the guitar, infact it's a timeless track.

It would have been perfect IF you changed the background noise...Suggestion...add gentle falling drops of water OR the sound of a tiny creek. (You get the idea). This would make it definitely perfect and I would give you 1.000.000 cookies + free boob job. :P

The track is still cool the way it is.

I still hate you! >: (

Thanks for your vote, DarKsidE555! You voted 5 for A regular day (2:16), raising its score from 3.70 to 3.82.

WinTang responds:

Hm... I'm not sure, I'd have to try. It sounds like your suggestion could either make it great, or just pure new-age crap.
Anyhow, duly noted.
Stop hating me. Otherwise we'll invade YOUR country for a change!

Very soft and Peaceful

This is the kind of tune I'd play to wind down from some stress. It's relaxing to listen to. As the G0RtH said it could use a remix with other gentle rhythms. Could you try one mixing synth beats and water sounds? Also in another review you commented and asked if I did music and the answer is no for now.

WinTang responds:

Well let me know when you start making music, I'll be happy to leave some reviews.
This is going on a demo cd I'm planning, and will therefore be experimented with more. I'll try something with beats probly but very sparse. Still hesitant to use water sounds, 'fraid it will force the image too much.
I suppose it can't hurt to try tho.
At any rate, thanks for another great review.

Mogwai, eat your heart out.

Beautiful. Sure, it's simple, but I don't care. The tone on the guitar is superb, the reverb/delay suits it perfectly, as does the melody, and the noise completes the whole picture. Maybe I would've liked to have heard another element or two thrown in for good measure, but it holds its own as-is. Congrats on your 50th submission!

WinTang responds:

Thanks mate - I'm going to use this in a play probably, been toying with the idea of adding some floating piano notes but eventually decided that I'd go with Less Is More. If you want to have a go yourself, feel absolutely free :)
