An interesting one. I wonder if what Skull Lord showed Trish was true. I knew this series would get serious at some point. So, is Skull Lord a figure of authority on Chut Island?
I liked Trish's screaming fit at the start, when she started punching Chutney. Chut's derpface at the end was pretty funny too. Red Skeleton's attitude is great as always. Then it got all deep. Animation was nice as always. I liked the flashback style for the - well, flashback.
The plot in this one was quite confusing, though. How did these guys end up in jail? I'd like to see that episode. Then what was Skull Lord doing at the Glaze home? Was he there to collect on debt? Was the tree looking for the Good Boi or money? Why would Skull Lord wait for him to get the Good Boi if that was the case? I did like the twist with Chutney's slaughter. Kind of a trope but still shown in a disturbing way here, with the juice and everything. Makes me wonder wjat Chutney's deal is. Is he a psychopath or does he just have no understanding if death? I'd say it's the latter. The episode ended early, like it's a 2-parter. Not very satisfying.
Overall a surprising lack of humor here, it got very dark. The plot was confusing and pretty unsatisfying. I'm sorry, Chut, but not your best episode. The series was heading down this road for sure, but this didn't have sufficient build-up in the story and kinda left the humor behind a bit.
