Reviews for "The Gold Men"

Great animation and i love the weird story however it lacks sound effects wich makes it sometimes just awkwardly quiet.

"you know what?"

And that's how you grow an idea. :) The dude was pretty convincing, jumping out of the window and flying away like that, into the sun, an almost angelic form venturing to his nearby paradise... and then it all turns into a virus, and I question his possibly shadier motives, and then a trash can waltzes in, and then we go full circle again with the tales of gold... I like how it all unfolds, all masterfully animated and voiced, though at the same time do wish there was some more continuity there. With the boss. With the trash. The germ on a pigeon though: OK if those were just the one time thing. Thoroughly enjoyable and refreshingly imaginative, and unexpected, all the while staying true to the story, just a few loose ends that could've been tied together. Really love the laid back pace too.

That was funny! I loved the comedy, like the initial slow build-up to the guy jumping out the window and then taking flight, his repeated statement of not caring, his description of the gold men, the virus, etc. The animation was really good, and I really liked it at the very start. The difference in styles is interesting, I like how the construction guy randomly jiggled. Man, the way the boss ended up googling the gold men was very well done, with the build-up and him glancing at the computer. The virtual guys were awesome as well, with how they interrupted each other and how friendly and up-front they were. I loved how the boss just completely cut the guy off and gave him the computer. His naive joy at being CEO was great as well. I really liked the construction worker's understated reactions. The random guys destroying the computer were just...random. The slime monster was, too. The ending was great though, with the Rick and Morty style humor of us having missed everything. The concept of and construction guy's reaction to Trash Day was also great, and so was the trash can's inner monologue. There is a problem with the movie, though. It was loosely and quite randomly connected. I like how at the start it seemed like everything was going to be woven together by the Gold Men story. Hence the constant burning sun in the background. Then it just turned random though. I guess it worms with that Rick and Morty style humor, but some of it just seemed like it was a different movie. The look of the Gold Men was disappointing, I feel like it would have been better to have it end on the guy getting hit by a plane or going back or something, just as he's about to achieve his goal.
Overall, a funny and cool movie, but not very satisfying in terms of story structure.
