Reviews for "A Life Without Facebook"

PG-13 filter ENGAGED!

That was F(reaking) awesome! This one clearly was so out of the park it landed in someone's windshield in the parking lot at the baseball game.

Let me really dig into this. I was just reminded of what Liquid Television was (Back in the days when MT-V didn't suck donkey prong), Midnight Flight (Very late night TV) and Spike and Mike's Sick and Twisted Animation when these shows did not suck. This was the essence of Indi, Experimental, and damn if you didn't just knock down "The Box." You broke the 4th Wall so much you may have caused a Dimensional rift to this world.

This was indeed WEIRD by every stretch of the imagination. Considering this was a hybrid animation it was pieced together in ways that pay tribute to a lot of past experimental animators. Congratulations, you just actually set upon (cough) new grounds of animation... There is no way this one is comparable to anything sane. The movie director David Lynch would LOVE THIS! He is the man who did Eraserhead as well as the memorable oddities as well as Twin Peaks (A very messed up Television series that was utterly confusing). In some ways this does compare directly to Eraserhead but it only compares in some ways. There was a lot of Max Headroom, Matrix, and Tron influences in this as well if I am not mistaken. There certainly were elements of said movies and shows in this. I also got the feel of "The Men in Black" (not MIB aliens but more MIB Secret Agent Man), as well as Conspiracy Theory nut case.

I must say, this was weird and had this strange frantic energy to it as well as many small details that had a lot of meaning behind them such as the 'protagonist' (lol) not paying attention to the menacing speaker and a lot of Japanese Anime visual jokes. This indeed was Digital Culture at its most surreal. There also is a point I would like to bring up was that the Surrealism was just barely grounded enough to real life that it did not make this so esoteric that it would have been rendered unwatchable. It was not confusing although the action and script got confusing and frenetic. SURREAL in a Dali sort of way!

You also stabbed into Mark Zuckerberg pretty deep. You had this sinister 'Veil of Evil' thing going on in this which was done for the best words perfectly. This piece was DARK DARK DARK. The visuals were executed in a manner that lent well to the unnatural feel of this piece. The sarcasm was also directly aimed at those who give Facebook power over them. That was another VERY HIGH POINT in that you took aim on and shot the elephant in the room about the evils of Facebook and who is more the problem. You did more than poke Facebook with a stick, you done poked social media in its eye with a stick.

I could go into deeper details but at this point I think I said what needed to be said. This was a finely crafted piece of sane insanity. There is more to animation than what many people think of Animation. Live Action and Animation very seldom blend well. You made a fine combination here. Top Shelf stuff here.

Thank you.

I would like to see what other insanity you have based on this. This was 5 Stars hands down!

Awesome!

damn it looks like the joker declaring war or mark zuckerberg
a little bit more and he will dip himself in chemicals

Top notch in the animation. It is actually better than any live trailer out there ! :)
I love the part where you show the smoking add featuring the so called "Russian Interference" because you just point out that actually nobody except the american conglomerate can actually spy every single human on earth through facebook, google & co. And this is the biggest spy chain the world has never seen (despite the media saying otherwise)

As you actually theatrically show in your animation, that even our very phones operate through american firms (android & apple & co) and that all my data are selled in america without my consent.
I'm a society product, and when the product is free, then you ought to be the product yourself (facebook, google home & co)

Thank you for this wonderful animation and for this outstanding work ! :D
I can finally tell my friends a bit more about this smoking gun called "Vladimir Putin stole your pencil, I didn't do it" and tell them that our dear friends facebook and our android phones are maybe not our best friends ... :)

You rock !

This is one fucking looney video, and I loved every second of it. It looks like something you'd see out of some psychadelic horror movie from the 70's or something. I can't wait to see more.
