Reviews for "Madam De'Monica's Villain Academy"

While the game is fairly good (it has a lot of obvious potentional), I do have some (mostly minor) complaints.

First, there's no in-game instructions for how to interact with a character. It's mostly just poor design not to have that.

Second, I got all three endings in about four playthroughs.

Third, there's no indication that "hey once you exit, that's the end of the game". At the very least, add a message after the end screen saying "THAT'S THE END OF THE GAME FOR NOW" - or an ability to click on the icon to bring back to the main menu.

Overall, I did enjoy the game (though I wouldn't call it a demo - it felt very much early alpha compared to an actual demo; while the game works without any game breaking issues that I could find, I felt it had a bit too little content to be labeled a demo).

I am looking forward to the full game, should you make it. Like I said, it seems to have a lot of potentional.

Nice graphics, but very sadly very short, it has potential. With improved controls (the click over exclamation symbol isnt very precise), graphics and being longer it can be a really fun to play!

oh If you goes too fast on the dialogue of the teacher, there's a bug and no options are displayed.
Can't get the third final :(

Scorchle responds:

Thanks for the feedback!
Yeah, going too fast seems to cause some issues, but I think I know what the problem might be and I'll try to fix it in an update.
I am hoping to make some touch ups soon - I plan to acquire construct3 in one way or another, and make this a long time project.

first bug report:

after playing the game once, i wanted to play it fast so I skipped the dialoug of the old hag who gets no dingdongs anymore very fast. Doing this will lead to a crash of the game.

"Madam De'Monica's Villain Academy is an RPG/Visual Novel style game where every choice you make directly impacts your fate. The way you decide to play will dictate what ending you receive.
The bar at the top of your screen indicates your VILLAIN RANK. You can fill this bar up by making inherently mean or evil choices when interacting with other students and teachers. Being nice will lower your rank. If your Villain Rank is too low at the end of the day, you risk failing and getting kicked out.
However, there is some benefit to saying nice things. Interacting politely with other students and teachers will open up new dialogue options. Being a villain is important, but be wary of who you make enemies with..."

thats the idea of the game which is still in progress even after the jam? i would like to see that, because all the love end effort you have put into it is clearly visible. And a lot of work is also shining through. For now the game is nothing more as a demo and no real achivments are there because it seem like a much bigger much longer game and it needs its time. What I like about it is, that it never bored me. ;)

Scorchle responds:

Thank you very much for the feedback!
It's really encouraging to know that people are excited for this to continue - hopefully as excited as I am. I plan to make this game a full length RPG with multiple semesters/years, with game mechanics that change based on how you play (eg. a battle system, more options, different dialogue, etc). The demo is intended to test what c3 is capable of and provide a general overview for what idle gameplay will be like.
As for the aforementioned bug, I'm sorry you had to encounter that! It seems like a few people have had issues with that and I think I know what the problem may be, and I'll try to fix it soon.
Thanks!

What you've got so far is great, just improve the graphics and make it much longer.

How many endings are there? I found three.

Scorchle responds:

Oof, I thought I mentioned that in the description, but I guess I deleted that in the final draft.
Congrats, you've found all three!
