Reviews for "A bittersweet memory"

....

some memories are not meant to be remembered.

BlazingDragon responds:

But without remembering them, how would we ever learn? Memories can be painful, but I don't want to forget them.

well done!

all i can say to you is very well done. It fluctuates smoothly. changing the feel of the song fluidly has all the aspects of a good well thought out song. weather or not this was a year ago. You did very well, however i cannot give this a 10 because it did not take me away like tama's music.

BlazingDragon responds:

Thank you for the reviews. I always enjoy reading them!

I may go back and edit this song when time permits. I feel as though it is too rough around the edges to carry you away like I had desired. I'd love to go back and add a better piano sample, tempo fluctuations, dynamics variation, and also to retool the climax and last note. I feel as though it may then live to its full potential.

Wait a minute, I'm reviewing myself now. >_<

Thanks again!

Amazing

I really like this one! I especially like the roomy reverb on the piano. It sounds very good. It's moving.

BlazingDragon responds:

Thanks, but I HATE the reverb on the piano. >.<

This song was composed on Finale Notepad years ago, when I was around 12 or 13 years old. I didn't know anything about FL or soundfonts, so I had someone on the internet run it through their software to turn it into an mp3. They put in WAY too much reverb IMO. If you like it, though, that's great! :D

Thanks again,
~Blaze

Without mastering?

Were you writing perfect songs when you cam out of the hospital? Seriously, dude, you have a beautiful gift. I cannot stress that enough.

BlazingDragon responds:

LOL! Not so much. My first song was...Less than stellar. Some of my old works are cringe-worthy. I've come a LONG way since a few years ago. Music Theory has been a big help, along with simply getting more experience with each song I've composed.

Thanks...Again. :P

Hmm...

I didn't quite like the sound effect you put in with the piano. Reverb or echo, was it? Either way it didn't sound too good. A good piece, regardless. Try doing it without any fx and perhaps a cello and a viola

BlazingDragon responds:

I wrote this years ago, long before I knew anything about mastering. It was only a midi, so I had a friend turn it into an mp3. It came out very muffled as you can tell. Perhaps I'll get around to editing it and adding some strings.

Thank you again for the reviews! :D
