Reviews for "Umichan Maiko: Savor the Moment (UMSTM)"

Fair game, tho the pink girl confuses me when the dialog is on, have no idea who's talking.

Vortex00 responds:

Thanks for the feedback. There are character names at the beginning of each sentence. If there isn't one, it is the main character thinking to herself.

The art is certainly better than it's ever been, but this... single chapter version of the larger game is the worst one I've ever played. All sense of agency has been stripped out. Everywhere I go is predetermined. All the dialog feels forced and unnecessary for the story you're telling. The swimming minigame in no way relates to the main storyline.

Maiko's hair and boobs constantly being in frame is annoyingly distracting. It was better the way it was before when her tits were only in frame if you looked far enough down.

Not to mention, Savori's dad is SO much worse in this version. Before, he was just paying for naked pictures of his daughter, which is bad, but you can understand her not wanting to tell anyone. But in this version, he's a straight up rapist. Kyle selling pictures to her dad is the LEAST of his offenses at this point. With that level of abuse going on, Savori should've reported her dad a long time ago.

With navigation being more confusing and frustrating, no real sense of exploration, discovery, or character development, this game is much less entertaining that prior incarnations; even WITH the improved art. I'd rather just play "Classroom Cheaters" again.

(but seriously, whatever you payed the artist for this work, it was worth it)

Vortex00 responds:

Thanks for the feedback. Here are some things to consider:

This game focuses on the story portion of a specific quest in a larger game. Exploring areas randomly and spending time gaining stat points is not included because the other parts of the larger game that make it relevant to do that are not included, and not the intent of this game.

Maiko wants to swim at the beginning of the game as personal goal. Why does her goal need to be connected to Savori's plight? Also it relates to the main story because she meets Savori and Kyle at various times in the locker room to lean about what is happening.

The dad is how he has always been in both UMCC and UMCH and why Maiko wants to report him immediately the moment she finds out about what's going on in both games. Also why a bad ending in both games are as drastic as they are. There is just not an animation for it in UMCC.
