Catchy!

Making something epic is hard enough, but to make it loop and have the person playing the game not suffer from a mental breakdown and run screaming from the loop is hard enough! I have to say I would've liked to see the melody be carried to something faster paced and elaborate after the choir cuts in at :30 or so... such as a violin or electric guitar, the horns' buzz gets a little old after the second runthrough.

All in all, I think the biggest lesson can be learned from older games when it comes to music loops. I mean, who ever got sonic's invinciblity power up and complained of the 16-bit loop that may have lasted... 15 seconds or so? It feels like this should have either been simplified more, or had more added to it.

MaestroRage responds:

quite true, a loop is mad difficult to keep ambient, yet powerful, especially of the epic nature. The original intention of this song was to be much longer, a short symphony of sorts, in that way you have at least a 3 minute loop.

And though the older games has such simple awesome loops, by today's standards I don't know how well that would carry over.

Electric guitar would have been pretty damn sweet, now if only I had one :'(

I did have a violin, so in retrospect, why that wasn't in there IS a mystery to me. Maybe at the time I didn't want it in there.

Thanks for the review GeLaTiNoUsTuRnCoAt *fun to write the name :D*, i'm glad you liked it!

Mehehe

Now where have I heard this before?! =P
Your music seems quite popular eh? Ain't all that attention lovely?
Overall a good creation....again...and again.... and again.... There's no end!

Cheers, The-Fallen-1

MaestroRage responds:

well there is an end technically. I think thus far the end is 56 tracks... and not all of them are great. I'd say around 40, so yeah, long journey, but there is an end :D!

I hope you take the time to take that journey, and enjoy the pieces, if for nothing else, then to just see a world that is entirely your own.

Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it!

Very nice

Standing atop the castle wall, the captain of the guard readies his men, the time of peace has ended, and war is upon them.

He calls to his men to ready the arrows as the goblins below cry their war cries and give shouts of bloodlust.

"We stand here, in defiance, for many years we have been hounded by these scourge! No more! Let not a single arrow fly from your bows until my signal... once given, let not a single arrow remain within these walls!" he shouted, waves of cheers spread throughout the men, a wildfire of courage and hope spread faster than any plague, and destroyed any thought of fear.

Lightning illuminated the night sky once more, the goblins had set foward in a rush, racing towards the castle walls. The goblins did not understand the language of men, but the sound of the hundreds of men atop of the castle wall certainly shook their will, and even within the biggest of goblins, fear had been instilled.

"FIRE!" Came a cry from atop the stone wall, one of the few words the goblins understood, staring up to watch the arrows fall, many goblins were sure their lightning fast reflexes would save them. Many realized their folly to late, for even while the lightning illuminated the dark night, how could one see through the wall of arrows, one to make the dark skies?

MaestroRage responds:

ooooh, this story was truly epic to the core!

I loved the lightning illuminating the night sky. It truly resonates the strength of the soldiers, the absolute desire to CRUSH their enemy, and they the same!

A rage filled fire from both sides, and only the darkness for them to play in.

Excellent...

Thank you for this review Loki, if you are who I think you are, I wish you all the best. I had fun in your tribe. If you are not, and are confused by this statement, I apologize, it's just your name is very similar to a dear friend of mine ;).

I am glad you enjoyed the piece, I apologize for the late response, I hope you will one day read it.

Very nice.

Two powerfull wizards start an epic duel. one rises skeletons and zombies from the ground and the other one calls the power of the sun to destroy them. Then, the evil wizard dispears. The holly wizard doesn't know where he is and so the evil one appears behind him with a venomous dagger and stabs him in the back. The white wizard has powerful healing magic but the poison is still stirring in his veins. Just before dying he has time to cast the sacrificia luminarea spell, wich kills him but makes him explode like a bomb of immense light energy and by that the evil wizard gets torn apart.

Thats what I felt from this music =3

The rest of the story I feel from your song will be in another review of another of your songs, where the evil wizard, who was very powerful, defies satan himself, to gain control of hell. While the white mage, seeks help from the almighty god.

MaestroRage responds:

such a powerful and dark ending to a battle D:

White and holy mages are not usually equipped with the ability to obliterate everything in a 50 mile radius. That kind of magic is reserved for the peasants unaware of what they're just about to do :D!

But seriously, a truly epic battle, with a truly epic end! Thank you for the story and the review! I'm glad you liked the piece! I also apologize for the late response :(

Epic

that would epic used a as final boss music, it even has that ominous chaning

MaestroRage responds:

This was in fact originally created for an epic final boss theme! I am glad it makes you think of that imagery!

Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it! I also apologize for the late response :(
