Reviews for "DUEL: become # one"

I see what you're aiming for. This reminds me of the Stick Fighter RPG game when it comes to the fighting. But you don't have enough mechanics here. I mean where is the dodge mechanic, what weapon am I using, how many weapons are there? There is a lot missing and it makes it hard to enjoy this, even if you had good artwork. Overall, this 'barely' a good.
Hope you keep improving this.

popotsesthedragon responds:

The game is still young in terms of development that's why It has so little options. I just managed to make it viable to play at least that the players would get the main mechanics. I launched because I wish to know what people think of it so it could improve. Thank you for response and insight on the game. Regarding the dodge mechanic, do you mean the invincibility frame, the same as in Dark Souls when you do a roll you dont get hit? If it is, I purposely didn't do it because it defeats the purpose of blocking attacks as players would just spam roll. However you can still use roll ("shift") to get out of enemy range instantly compared to running. Thanks for pointing this out though

There's some potential here. Combat controls are a bit slow in response. Anything else like imbalances, I wouldn't know about 'cause I'm not good at detecting those. So, I'll take their word for it. I will still be playing this though.

popotsesthedragon responds:

Thanks! I'll try and improve the game more so keep your heads up. (or head)

Using art from AQW...stolen assets...combat is ok but not amazing. Rolling isn't really worth my time.

popotsesthedragon responds:

I got that fixed, I didn't realize it when you pointed it out, thanks. It's temporary, I enjoy the weapons in AQW so I incorporated them to the game for myself.

More like repeat same things: Back, turn, while enemy run for you - hit, turn, run. And swords is...oh..imbalance. One give a speed but short hitbox, two a slow but damage is colossal

popotsesthedragon responds:

Can you help me balance the weapons then? the turn hit tactic won't work now, I had the enemy anticipate your stance as they approach, so thanks for pointing that out.

A misleading thumbnail, shame that that it'd had to be used on a decent game like this.

popotsesthedragon responds:

Finish the game if you want it. If you can't finish the game, here, ..::::.. have some salt for those wounds.
