Alright, after beating the game I kinda felt compelled to do a review. First let me say that I absolutely loved wasting time on this and procrastinating stuff I really had to do. On my way through, I encountered some things that bugged me. What was really bothersome were the percentages, as I don't think they are in order. My mage would always incinerate foes in the beginning, but stopped doing so completely after a while. I skilled the increased crit on the first shot for the archer asap, but none of my characters would crit, ever. I began leveling the crit attribute and from one fight to the other, my archer was unable not to crit (except for with lightening arrow for some reason). I played around with him, giving him all the damage stuff so he could one-hit opponents until I noticed that playing magic as main attribute was the smarter way. Then I noticed that magic on every hero was the way to go. I'd suggest changing the spells for archer and warrior so that they are actually based on strength and maybe only have secondary effects benefit from magic (i.e healing on the shockwave). Also when I progessed, I soon quit using the mage for magic and just had him polymorph all the time. While healing came in handy in the beginning, I think it grows useless in the end, as enemies deal way more damage anyway.
Apart from that, I really liked the fighting in the beginning, less so in later stages where the enemy would randomly one-hit someone so I had to get lucky with the start. While items were a fun addition, farming for them is quite boring due to strange drop rates, but more importantly the experience counter. I felt kinda trapped in the after fight window in later stages because adding the experience to the bar took so long. Maybe change it from time per xp to time per %xp if you know what I mean ;).
Now for the building part, I had fun doing this. The upgrade times grew too long, but I think you kinda went for something like an idle game - sadly the heroes progress is too fast for that. I was lucky to encounter a bug where when I won 50 gems in the casino, it filled them all up, so I could skip everything.
If you plan on further developing your game, maybe give villagers a purpose - like farming the food (that was never a problem at all).
Last but not least, I encountered a bug where the fight froze in the first (I think) hard stage - the island with only two enemies. After defeating one of the first three and then casting another action, the fight froze and I couldn't do anything anymore. When I chose targeted ability, I could not click the remaining enemies.
Anyway all in all I really appreciated this game despite the flaws I listed. Hopefully my strangely unstructured review can help in any way!
cheers!
