I enjoy the game, it is fun, it may seem simple, but it requires timing, thinking, careful choices, and some actual quick decisions compared to other games, it is a little annoying that you cannot see what weapon has what reach / stats, and what stats do what, but from what I can guess, Strength increases kick / guard break damage and / or melee damage along with increasing the amount of damage you need to take to stop your attack if you're not hit with a kick / guard break, while upgrading your weapon increases damage with it only, and also, I cannot find large upgrade materials, I do not know how to find them, I know the character and item levels have something to do with it, I'm assuming the character must be level 30 / 60 or 40 / 60 before you can find large upgrade materials at all. Also, the hitbox for the travelers basic melee weapon is just stupid, you can't hit someone with the whole mid section of the blade, only the hilt and the tip, and even then it doesn't hit most of the time, That is just weird, other than those flaws. Some information in the description would be great. I cannot give a 5 star rating unless these problems are fixed, I know you're able to do so. However, I do like how the current system is done, with the upgrading, the materials, and such.
P.S, I found a trick if you're using the 1 handed weapons without shields, just KICK the enemy into submission, Kick them into a corner, after that, Kick then Hit, rinse and repeat, also, UPGRADE STAMINA! Use Shadow, that character with fully upgraded weapons and a large amount of stamina is near unstoppable if you know how to use him right. I mean it, I've gotten to round 14 in survival with him without having his weapons / armor upgraded past medium since I couldn't find any large upgrade materials. You won't regret playing as him, and don't waste materials on the traveler, its just a jack of all trades, master of none, too weak to use. Weapon upgrades barely do anything, same with armor, and the only thing that is good about the traveler is that they're a good starter for learning the basics and also testing new styles. Other than that, the traveler is terrible. Also, I agree with xDcannon, the 2 handed weapons are lack luster, even upgrading them it doesn't do much, the only real way to play is to get a special character in the style you like, since only upgrading their weapons produces even noticeable results. Even then, the 2 handed one(s) ( I only have bearded ninja ) aren't all that great.
That is all for this review, I would like to know what you thought about it, I am sorry I cannot give a full 5 stars but those problems prevent me from doing so.
