I remember the creators referring to this as the 'Great Krabby War' arc. Squidward is tempted into a contract with Plankton, whilst Spongebob and Patrick's friendship is strained by Krabs' ever-heavier work expectations for Spongebob now that Squidward is gone. Sandy tries her hardest to reconcile the two, but between Patrick's stubborn pride, and Plankton's challenge against her intellectual prowess, she finds herself roped into a spiraling chain of events. This arc really pushed some boundaries, but I think they killed off Patrick's character too quickly. They didn't even attempt to explain away how he didn't regenerate himself, being a starfish. It really made the time in the arc dedicated to his sword training rather pointless, without developing his character. But the climax of Spongebob and Squidward battling on the remains of Plankton's airship was a beautiful piece of animation, and brought some solid resolution to the entire arc. I can't wait until they dive into the more slice-of-life material from the manga, but I just hope they don't waste their time with that filler arc about Atlantis.

I love this series, but the manga was better tbh
Still, the anime had some really good parts, the Fry Cook Games arc, the entire thing was amazing, and the final fight between Suponjibobu and Patorikku was a masterpiece, but I can't find the opening for this arc, could somebody tell me where is it?

The american adaptation of this series was truely aweful. Why cant the localization teams just keep a series the way its supposed to be.
