Reviews for "Rogue Fable II"

A simple but very well made roguelike that does a great job killing time. Class balance is slightly wonky in that there are clearly superior (Storm Mage) and inferior (Warrior) classes, but you can be successful with any as long as you're patient and strategic.

To the person who called this game a "Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Ripoff": No. This genre has existed since the very early days of gaming.

very fun when your sitting there in the dark and you just want something fun to do

Very fun and pretty difficult. It took me a lot of tries to win. For people that say the warrior isn't viable: dont go rushing into mobs of enemies. If there are maggots let them come to you and take them out one by one.

Finally beat it after countless tries. Brutally difficult, especially the ice area. Luck > Skill. Storm Mage is the best by far. Warrior can't deal with maggots. Period. Even if he can one shot them a corpse will spawn them faster than he can kill them and he gets tickled to death. Rogue/Ranger also get overwhelmed. Necro/Fire could probably be viable, but Storm is superior.

I get to the final level with my beefed up storm mage, armed to the teeth and carrying heaps of items to get me out of trouble.
I can't get very far without stepping on lava so I use a teleportation scroll to see if I can get anywhere useful that way. The scroll puts me within 2 tiles of the goblet and I win without any major confrontation or exploring more than 5% of the final level.
Amazing.
Only small complaint about the game is the upgrade system, it's a shame that I can have a +1 item, then pick up a same +3 item and only have it turn into a +2 item.
