I actually really like the style.
I don't find any deep message in this picture. As you said yourself, it's 'just some drawing in a notebook.' But if you took the time to make a much bigger, more complicated picture with this same scribbly art style (for some reason, a Where's Waldo sort of scene is what pops into my mind), I know I'd put it on my favorites pretty fast.
