I'm a little saddaned to hear you go Raust. What happened to your account? Surely if we contacted Wade/Tom or a mod we could find a way to fix or keep it safe.
In any case, I will not question your motives, I only hope you will not end up regretting them, because you WILL be missed. At least by me.
In any case, this is a pretty kicking song. It ends a tad abruptly, but you know you've always had this knack for these battle oriented tunes, tense, apprehensive moods.
The tremelo strings at the beginning were very well used. I wonder if they are needed after the snare comes in though. I wonder what it would sound like without them, it kind of muddles up the sound. When the high violins come in, it takes on a very nobel feel, a very dignified, driving aspect.
Have you considered using bells for this piece? You know some nice chimes might give it a more epic feel.
I really liked the buildup of the strings, higher and higher and higher! Then BOOM back to where we started.
