Reviews for "God & politics"

Pretty good, but...

Halooo??? I couldn't stop thinking about Halo the whole entire animation. I think the animation Persia Destroyed sends a similar message to this animation. Justin H.

Nice attempt

As far as a flash goes this was more of a political statement than a real animation, as simply pasting in images found from the internet doesnt leave much room for originality.
As for the message I can understand what it was you were trying to achieve, mainly due to the explanation you offer. Ironically you're message suffers from the very problem that it seeks to tackle; taken out of context it can be easily misinterpreted and its meaning twisted. With the use of the "Islam is not the enemy" message, followed by a montage of middle eastern attrocities commited by fundamentalists you seem to be suggesting the opposite is true, that Islam is the enemy for all that they have done and that we should not trust those who claim otherwise. There was nothing there at all to suggest Islam had a good side, so without reading your original comments (which many people wont, they will just go right to watching the movie) the meaning is lost.
Still, the message is a noble one and i would recommend you continue trying to promote religious understanding. Good luck on your next venture

This is not 100% racist.....but damn close.

First off, I like to say I em Muslim, and a caucasian one at that. Also I like to say I understand your idea of trying to show how messed up, Iraq is are fucked up. I'm sorry but puting dieing Iraqi's with middle eastern music with Halo 2 music, is just plain racist. I em sick and tried of white ass Americans (I em a American but only for a few more years) saying, "Why do they hate us?" Oh I don't know, maybe it's because you killed there family memebers, ever think about that one?!?!?! I wish you could understand, that I hate the Jihadist more then you can think. That brings a new topic, Jihad. IT'S NOT "HOLY WAR", it's (in a nutshell) a goal that one is highly for, it can be death to America, yes, but it can also be to stop world hunger, it's not always bad. F.Y.I. Islam is the second largest fatih in the world, and the fastest growing. I hate trrorism more then you can think, they kill my people, my way of life. But trrorism isnt just the Middle east, europe is pluged in trrorist, never makes news though, whys that, mr. Jewish media?!?!?! I hate AmeriKKKa, and I em sick of all you racist shits!!!

Tip of the Iceberg

This is the first time I've ever reviewed anything on newgrounds because I don't have any experience with flash programming or anything like that. However, this commentary is more on the content.

I appreciate your statement that these people are all in fact doing everything in the name of an extremist religion, but to make a film about something that could be taken in such a derogatory fashion as racism, in such bland context as this particular one, can be pretty destructive. I'm also glad I read your comments before watching it, because I would have misinterpreted it as a promotion against Islam specifically. Because without your clarification aside from the film, this one is.

If you were making an arguement against the union of Religion and State (a stance that I personally hold very strongly), then make it against all religions - make a point about how the Bush administration is trying to make America Christain. But don't just say it's Islam.

Racist? Step back, take a deep breath...and think

I believe the words your looking for are "Religious Discrimination" not "Racist". Islam is not a race, it is a system of beliefs and ideals with a higher being as a centre point or figurehead (sometimes known as "religion"). People choose what religion to practice, they do not choose the colour of their skin.

First of, I deem this as neither. Give the guy some credit folks, he's probably trying to explain in his own words how certian people can twist religious ideals for their own end, albeit he hasn't made a great job of it, but I can see the sentiment. "Don't tanish everyone with the same brush" would have been a better slant, but for someone whom I'm guessing is 13-15 years old, it's understandable.

I'll never understand why *certain* followers of religions always fail to engage their brains before opening their mouths. Look before you leap, eh?
