Reviews for "Assault Zone"

what a sorry excuse of an fps game. The Cross hair and camera view is separated meaning shitty aim and shooting.

Whould be way better as a Railshooter.

This game is not that bad as I thought, but it obviously has a lot of problems. Let's start with this: the 3D environment and the objects are really impressive, concerning the fact that this is a flash game. But well, that's it. The rest is mediocre or just bad. Notably, the aiming is really stiff and slow and you can't react to enemies that well at all. Also, there are so many enemies that it just felt like it would never end and some of them appeared in an incredibly frustrating way.

Overall, if the aiming is better and some other technical problems were fixed, then this would have been 5 stars for sure!

It's an interesting start for a game. Obviously, we've seen 3-D shooters before, but I guess a free one on a flash portal is worth noting. Though now that I look at the "If you liked this, check these out!" I realize you've been putting out a lot of, presumably cookie-cutter, 3-D shooters.

You need to fix movement. It may seem good that you can aim your gun all around the screen, but making turning only happen when you mouse to the side of the screen is a frankly terrible idea: it means to turn you have to put your reticle in precisely the most useless place, and requires you to move it back to aim at something that comes into view. It also means turning is at a fixed rate, making it feel like you are on tank treads. Having aiming and turning linked, like in every other first person game means you can have a natural 'snap' turning motion, with no delay period when you aren't aiming.

Also, it doesn't really feel like you've got much of a game going here. The same enemy, at pretty much the same distance, interspersed throughout a random map isn't going to wow anyone. It's conceptually interesting to see this on Newgrounds, but there are actual 3D, first person shooter games that are free for download. If you want to make something that people will want to play, you have to actually have something new and different to add, or you are competing against some pretty tough customers.

Impossible to enjoy a game when the controls do not work well. The character continues to move never stops.the aim is still spinning.

When you press A D, the sight stays spinning without reason as if you were moving the mouse.

The graphics are not the best, a basic FPS but I see the future, fix the controls and see in the future a good update to improve some things.

goodluck!
