Reviews for "Unknown Danger"

Sweet

Hey Stealth. I've been listening to this piece loop nearly 10 times now, it serves for a great ambiant, atmospheric feel as you said you wanted. Having achieved what you set out to do, I congratulate you.

Onto the piece itself now!

The reverse hats, the snares, the kicks, quite eerie. The somewhat melodic background with the piano is a factor that slightly bleeds away the eeriness, makes me think of a tree atop a hill located in a graveyard. It's also raining, in the dark so it makes for a really great image, some small child is swinging, going back and forth laughing, strangely enough there is no swing... the image is quite eerie.

The scream at the end didn't really suit the song in my opinion. Yes it makes for a great addition, but on the other side of that coin it also makes the song less listenable, as you would not be able to claim it fully ambiant for the scream proves to be distracting.

The glitched organ, was a pretty good idea, goes very well with the whole scene. Really this was a very very good song, you truly are prooving to become quite the competent artist. I look forward to your other tracks!

Here's my 5 Stealth, keep up the good work ;).

Maestro, thank you for the review, See I've been playing around with granular synthesis, due to listening to a lot of IDM recently, and admiring the creative aspect of it. I wanted to attempt something glitchy, I made all these samples (sampling household appliances and my vocals too which were very, very distorted, you'd almost never tell they were vocals, let alone mine XD)and after arranging some of them, felt it was eerie and wanted to extend that, having already moved far away from the IDM I was wanting to try, I did something different, something dark, which is something else I've been wanting to try. The piano I feel was kind of dark, maybe I could have played round with that to make it darker, but I felt it sounded right at the time so I stuck with it, whether good or bad.

and the glitched organ was something else I wanted to try. after trying it unglitched, and thinking it wasn't quite right, I decided to glitch it up, which helped a lot. I'm glad you think so too!

organs are usually eerie and it was one of the first choices of instrument I felt needed to be included,

Thank you for your review Maestro and thank you for your 5

Peace Out!

This time really dark.

It is pretty dark here Stealth. It has some nice elements. Even though it is kinda creepy, it has a nice varying and non monotonous drum beat, as well as the synths and all. Kinda sounds like one of Rush's instrumentals. Really sweet though, especially when there aren't any drums and there's that little bridge. All the transitions and different sounds are awesome. I don't like the fade particularly, but loved the scream, sounded a bit like The Wall. Nice one man.

5/5

Stealth-Emergence responds:

Hey cool :) your speakers are working now!

Ahh the fade, well the sounds for that part were kind of symbolic, as all the instruments started to fade from that point, also from there the kick became more regular, to represent a heartbeat which then leads off towards the end of the track and then that hearbeat followed by that scream.

Glad you liked it capn, thanks for your review and ur 5 too

Peace Out!

unique

Cool inventive track. It evolves nicely, on the one hand, the reversed claps sound a little bit cheap, but they grow on you. Towards the end, with the rhythm in full swing I get a very Daft Punk flavour from the track. The slow attack bass is a great element at the start. The organ gave the song a twist of a more ambient trippy nature. The strings give the song a lot of depth in combination with the piano. It's sounding cool, but the snare seems a little bit common for something a bit off the wall like this. But it works well enough, and here's the Daft Punk section :)
Nice one!

Stealth-Emergence responds:

Yay thanks dude!

Glad you liked it and thanks for the review!

Peace Out!

Stealth-Santa Ho Ho Ho!!!

lol

Has a good solid beat, while not over-doing it

I have to say, I like this song. It's got a good rhythm, and hits many emotional keys. You go from a good epic dark start to a faster paced beat. I love the addition of the scream sound effect, I like it when people give their music emotion, or have it try to convey it. Reminded me of music you would hear in an old vampire video game. You also managed to diversify your music enough to keep someone entertained. I only rated your effort so low, because it's hard to actually rate what you can't really tell. Out of experience I know this took you a while, but it could have maybe been a bit longer maybe revisted the introduction. Overall very impressive.

Hehe

This is a fun track man, nice work.

I like the glitched up drums but I think you might make the sequence a little longer, because they became completely predictable in their unpredictableness.

I like your choice of instruments, the sound of the piano is a good addition to contrast with the noisiness. The lead it plays is pretty unconvincing though, it sounds too random, you should pay more attention to creating a good lead melody.

And the scream at the end was too cheesy!! XD

Otherwise very nice, good atmosphere.

Stealth-Emergence responds:

excellent, thanks WinTang, I had fun making this, as all of the samples were made by me, including my very distrorted vocals in parts, and household items which I used granular synthesis techniques on

When you say unconvincing about the, with regards to the piano part, do you mean it doesn't quite fulfil the mood of the piece?

ahh the scream, well I had other ideas to include with the piece, had I of thought of how to implement those other ideas, the scream would have added to the feel. and the impact of the other ideas I had. however I couldn't work out the additional ideas for this. and I'm sure the idea will hit me later, when I'm working on something else lol

Thanks for your review WinTang!

Peace Out!
