Reviews for "Bad Pad - Early Access DEMO"

Good game, controls feels good even the swimming.
I had one sort of bug, the intro movie did not stop at the end i had to esc myself.
How many levels are there?

HeadbanGames responds:

Thanks!
I will check out the intro bug, probably something stupid :)

The entire game will be 4 floors, 4 levels on each floor, 5 levels on the 4th.
Each level is ranging from 6-10 connected scenes, plus there are the train and submarine levels and 4 game in game arcade games, and about 10 boss fights.

Each floor will be much bigger than the previous, it will be about 10-12 hours of game play.

The online demo currently has only the first floor, which is about 10% of the game, approximately 1 hour of gameplay, depends on how good you are :)

Level design for floor 2+3 is finished, that is another 45% of the game.

For the first early access version, we'll release a beta with the first and second floor.

The third floor needs to go through some visual design, adding background elements and such, so it will be released in the second update batch.

Floor 4 is still under construction, but I'm not working on it now, since I need to finish up beta for early access.

I would call it less 'hard core' and more 'fiddly'. However he game in general, for what I've seen, plays quite well otherwise.

Takes to long to get into the actual game, clicked away, sorry.

HeadbanGames responds:

Hi, I'm sorry you had a bad experience with my game, it's a rather large download, so it may take some time to fully cache on the first run, after that it should run instantly.

If you're still having issues you are welcome to try the demo on Steam

I'm pissed. Going through most of the intro (add infor that you can skip it with escape) and opening level (pre castle) took me a lot o t my time. I finally went to level choice screen and I get only pad controls (I'm on keyboard).

This demo only wasted my time and I didn't get to gameplay.

HeadbanGames responds:

The game works with keyboard or game-pad, you can see or change the buttons mapping in the menu.

How did you get through the opening level?
You need to move right, run and jump to get through it.

After I ran through the woods.. for what I guess was supposed to be the opening credits, I get to a castle or something with numbered areas. I click all over it. It zooms in on areas, zooms out, pans around. It is completely unclear how to start a level or which level to start or how to do anything.

You should rethink this.

Big time.

HeadbanGames responds:

sharpnova sent me the following message, admitting she was too quick to judge and nicely explained herself.

"I gave this game a zero hastily. Once I figured everything out it was great. I would give it a 4.5/5. If you want to reply to my review, please include this message."

Thank you for your input, there is a message on the bottom that says you need to press the jump button to continue and it shows the current mapping for the jump button, both keyboard and game-pad.
Other than that, enter, esc, or start button on the game-pad also starts the game, the levels are not select-able, the map is just to show progress and stats.

Also I now added a touch based start button for mouse input, I think that should cover all bases.
