Reviews for "The Legend Of Lucky Pie Episode 2 "The Zodiac Maze" (With English Subtitles)"

Really good.
Though I do agree it looks like a ripoff of Adventure Time, it's still a great adaption.

A Chinese variation on Adventure Time.
The animation is very good. A professional level, equivalent to the Adventure Time look. There are some cheaper tricks, like just sliding the character around, but it is passable and can be fun. The characters and world are rip-offs though, a boy(?) and his anthropomorphized brother go looking for adventure and treasure.
Nothing wrong with that, in all honesty and the Chinese spin on things keep it fresh overall.
But some of the motions that they do are a bit off, even for a cartoon. A bit too out of the ordinary.
The voice acting is okay. Not being able to understand their speech without the subtitles, I cannot say anything about their enunciation, but their choices for the voices are good.
The sound design is average, nothing to sneer at, and nothing to cheer over. However, the musical choices are a bit of a miss. Some of the scenes would have played out better without music put to them, and some of the music they chose, just didn't work out. And some of the actions lacked sound, making me focus on the classical music, which kinda worked but also didn't.
The humor is a bit more universal. Sticking to things like slapstick and bad luck comedy, so you don't miss much in the translation. But then again, it isn't very funny.
A decent watch.
