Reviews for "1985"

It is a nice pixel art game, but you should have been disqualified for lowresjam. I see overlapping pixels all over the place.

Wolod responds:

I haven't disabled "in-between" pixel movement for the sake of a more smooth gameplay. Besides it was an optional condition for the "authentic" challenge.

Really like the game
A jump back in time to the old retro games.
I also like the soundtrack, did you make it?If so, can you post it?

Wolod responds:

Thanks, glad that you like it! I've uploaded soundtrack on the GameJolt.

A great game with a great animation/drawings. I like how, even though its still similar, that its not exactly just another rerun of Mario. I think the pixel-y animation looks great, and goes well with the music even if the music gets a little old after a while. I also wanted to comment about the original health system-When you die, you don't really die, you restart from the checkpoint and loose some of your real health. I also liked the unique enemies, and how different enemies will appear based on how far you are in the game. I like the shop, but I think if you make a shop, it needs at least a few more things than two. Overall, I liked the game, and I think it'd be a perfect platformer for iOS/Android. The only real negative thing I'll point out is that I think that the set of the blocks in the game needs a little better placement, or just more than one floating block each couple feet. I'd also think instead of you going down, it should be more right and left. I'd also like to see possibly like a few detailed backgrounds such as dungeons or just even gardens, but I feel it needs a little more than the sky. Thank you, Wolod!

Wolod responds:

Thanks for the feedback! If I'll consider developing this game more, I'll add some backgrounds.

I really enjoyed the pixelart here, it's great. There was a bit of an issue on the jump, which just didn't feel that snappy. But overall, this was a great game

Wolod responds:

Thank you very much!

This game was great! I loved the music, I loved the style of it, and I like how simple it is. I also didn't encounter any bugs during my play session. The jump does feel a little off though, and the game was extremely laggy on my computer. Also, medals always help!

I liked this game a lot, and I hope too see more from you!

Wolod responds:

Thanks a lot!
