This is a pretty decent game. The game play is pretty easy to understand. I just wish a round would end when the penguin has fallen to earth and has stopped moving, and not when it's in the air falling to earth.

This is a masterfully designed time sink that dragged me in but left me mostly unfulfilled after a couple hours. Most elements of the game are done well, except (IMO) a very critical one -- progress in the game was too incremental. My guess is that the bonus points system and various game modes are intended to boost replay value. But if you have to start from scratch in every mode, then it is just a lot of seeing the same things over and over again.
Also, the real part of the game IMO is the equipping/upgrading. The actual flight requires little intervention other than occasionally pressing left/right, and each flight takes annoyingly long towards latter stages of the game. This makes game action few and too far between. I can't imagine someone playing the 1000K story mode waiting out the eventual 8-minute flight to get up there, and that is after countless 4-, 5- and 6- minute flights to grind out enough $ before you can even do that.
Maybe I'm an impatient guy, but that's my 2 cents.
Man, was I thrilled to see this on the front page of the site when I got on today. Much different game than I was expecting, nevertheless still very well done :) REALLY digging the soundtrack, too. Great job Light, you were born to give penguins the ability to fly.
I was looking for the classic LTF-game when I stumbled upon this... Just played through the first story mode and then I noticed how recently it was released. Awesome! :D
